All LSU Tigers gymnastics star Olivia Dunne wanted ahead of the 2024 NCAA finals was to make history as part of the team. Dunne fulfilled those dreams when she became part of the Tigers’ roster and lifted the NCAA title at Fort Worth in April. Unfortunately for Livvy, she acted as a substitute in the finals, and the trolls capitalized on the opportunity.
“There’s people calling me just mean things, calling me a professional bench warmer,” she revealed in Amazon Prime’s The Money Game. However, the highest-paid female NIL athlete wasn’t quite ready to ride off into the sunset. Shortly after winning her historic national title with LSU, the LSU gymnastics icon posted a video with the caption, “not Dunne yet.”
The 22-year-old’s video generated massive hype as she announced her comeback for a fifth year at LSU. Instead of retiring, the “#supersenior” will now prepare to take another shot at the NCAA title. In fact, Dunne has already embarked on her mission to prove that this time she has what it takes to help LSU get their second national title as part of the final roster.

Earlier, today, the 22-year-old dropped multiple Instagram stories showing snippets of herself hard at work at the Tigers’ gym. The three Instagram stories showcased snippets of Olivia Dunne’s first training session inside the familiar gym as a fifth year. The first video captured the national champion warming up for the vault with a somersault and aerial flip combo.
The following videos captured Dunne performing a basic dismount and some backflips on the “good ole beam” at LSU gym. However, the videos also showed that the 2024 LSU Coach’s Award-winning gymnast is taking things slow. Her first practice session was all about winding up the gears. After all, a series of injuries in her shoulder joint and shin splits nearly jeopardized her 2024 season. However, Dunne isn’t alone in her aim to repeat history, as LSU gymnastics is also making some major moves.
Is 2025 shaping up to be an even bigger year for LSU and Olivia Dunne?
Besides Livvy returning for another year, LSU is taking steps to bolster its ranks by attempting to recruit the best gymnasts young talent in the US. They’ve already found success because Hezly Rivera will be joining the LSU gymnastics team for the upcoming season. “I have verbally committed to Louisiana State University,” the 16-year-old Paris Olympic gold medalist announced in September.
Surprisingly, Rivera joining the Tigers will be a massive boost for Dunne. Besides bringing Olympic experience into the team, having Rivera and Olivia Dunne on the same team will serve as a reunion. When Hezly Rivera walked in for her first gymnastics lesson at ENA Gymnastics, Livvy Dunne was one of her seniors. So training with Rivera after all these years will only help both gymnasts to push their limits.

However, there’s another metric of success where the Westwood, New Jersey native already occupies the top spot and that’s the NIL. According to On3’s updated NIL rankings, the LSU Lady Tiger is comfortably perched on the top of the women’s ranking with an NIL valuation of $4 million and climbing. In fact, she is rapidly closing in on the Colorado Buffaloes’ Shedeur Sanders, who currently sits on the top spot.
However, with a $6.2 million valuation, the quarterback is not too far ahead of Olivia Dunne. The social media star with over 13.5 million combined followers revealed in 2023 that she earned $500,000 from a single post. It’s not outlandish to think that brands will be desperate to get Dunne on board in her final year at the Baton Rouge campus. So it’s safe to assume that the time is right for Livvy Dunne to take her place not just as an LSU and NIL icon but as an icon in all of the NCAA.
