Gymnastics as a sport is extremely pleasurable to watch, however, its dark side is hideous. Unfortunate incidents here can take away anyone’s career or life. Multiple entities have met a horrific accident while performing a gymnastics trick and one slight wrong move took their careers away from them. One such accident was faced by a 14-year-old gymnast named Taylor Lindsay in 2008.

She was a Canadian national gymnast who was elite at her time, but one incident changed her entire life. However, she broke her silence on the accident just before the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship. Now, that she is a successful entrepreneur she was recently seen talking about the incident on her social media.

An ex-gymnast Taylor Lindsay went through a horrifying accident around 15 years ago that will give you chills down your spine. She was just 14 years old when the incident took place while she was preparing for the 2012 Olympics. She met the incident while doing a stunt and the next thing everyone heard was that she was paralyzed forever. Details about this were never clear enough until Lindsay herself took to her social media a few days ago to talk about it.

Every now and then, one video of her doing a gymnastic stunt would run over the internet claiming it to be the one behind her accident. However, Lindsay had something else to say. A video surfaced where she was seen making a perfect landing and people claimed it to be the one. Lindsay said that was not the actual video of her breaking her neck and becoming paralyzed for life.

She has seen the video of her doing the stunt that paralyzed her and she will never even think of posting that video on social media. As it can traumatize not just her but anyone. She said, “It was not only traumatic for me to have seen it, but I think it would be very traumatic for anybody to witness that.” This is the reason why she used a different video to let everyone know about her injury. She was actually injured while performing a stunt on high bars. However, after being a successful businesswoman today, she still misses being a part of gymnastics and recently posted a video of the same.

It is not easy to forget something that one always wanted to pursue, and the same is the situation of Taylor Lindsay. She recently posted an old video of her performing a stunt and then her injury journey on her Instagram with the caption, “Oh #gymnastics how I miss thee sometimes.”?In another video on her Instagram, she thanked everyone for the love she got.

The gymnast is now a successful disabled entrepreneur. She is currently looking out for her newfound career as a motivational speaker, disability advocate, council member of the Premier’s Council on Equality of Opportunity, and the owner of Cup of Te Luxury Loose Leaf Teas.

Her Tea’ business was also listed as the Oprah’s Favorite Things List 2020. She has gracefully grown out of her traumatic experience and has done so much better with her career even after the disability. This is nothing but pure motivation for each and every one of us.
