The thing about life is that it’s full of surprises, and maybe everything in life happens for a reason. However, when Simone Biles had to leave her biological mother and move in with her grandparents, perhaps she was too young to understand this wisdom. It was equally challenging for her grandmother to raise kids at such an age. But when you spend enough time with someone, caring for them seems inevitable, and in no time, Nellie Biles became a real mother to Simone.
Now that Simone Biles might look back, being adopted by her grandmother was probably the best thing that happened to her. It changed her entire world, but only for good, and she has often mentioned how blessed she is to have Nellie as her mom.

Nellie Biles talks about the challenges she faced while raising Simone Biles
Well, catering to someone else’s child is always challenging. You might be the most sensitive and kind person in the world, but to be able to have a mother’s emotions is a different thing altogether. However, the next thing Nellie remembers is having that powerful connection with Simone that has never faded since then. She added, “I remember praying for that bonding, because telling them that you love them and you care for them, that’s all words. But you wake up one day and you realize that you would do anything for these children and that you would die for these children. And when that feeling comes … that’s when you know you’re truly a mother.”

As a result, social services had to intervene and arrange for a foster home for Simone and her three siblings. However, sometimes later, her maternal grandparents adopted her and her little sister, Adria.
