Long time coming, wasn’t it? The day is finally here as Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens announced their engagement to fans on Instagram. The duo has been dating for some time now, and are the Internet’s favorite couple. A relationship built on trust, honesty, and compassion, Biles and Owens have been together since August 2020. Now, as they take their relationship to the next level, fellow Olympians and stars from the sports world send in their best wishes from around the globe.

From legendary athletes like Michael Phelps to fellow gymnasts, Suni Lee, wishes flooded their Instagram post.

Sharing the big news, Simone took to Instagram in a heartwarming post of the moment Jonathan went down on his knee and asked her the ultimate decision, to which she said a resounding yes. Among the many congratulations they received, a special one came from Michael Phelps, who gave a shout-out to both Biles and Owens and left, “Congrats” in the comments section. USA’s legendary sprinter, Allyson Felix, also got in on the act by posting, “Congratulations” for the power couple.

Suni Lee, who replaced Biles during the Tokyo Summer Olympics, could not contain her happiness and posted a series of comments about how happy she was.

“OH MY GOSSSSHHHH”, “STOP IT RN”, “IM SCREAMING IM SO HAPPY,” she said.

She said yes!

Owens got down on his knees and laid out a gigantic diamond ring, to which she said “THE EASIEST YES.” Undoubtedly, it was a great moment for the couple. Tweeting pictures as adorable as they are, Biles said, “I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.” 

To the same on Instagram, Owens said, “Ready for forever with you.”
