Stephen Nedoroscik became a national sensation after his brilliant display at the Paris Olympics, which led the USA’s men’s gymnastics team to a bronze medal. It was through his entry into Dancing With the Stars that fans truly began to embrace him. Now, he has thousands of supporters on social media rallying behind him and his partner, Rylee Arnold, in their quest to win the DWTS trophy. On November 19th, the duo made a significant stride toward achieving their goal.

Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold finally booked their ticket to the show’s finale, giving them quite a great shot at the mirrorball. They made it to the final alongside Ilona Maher, Chandler Kinney, Danny Amendola, and Joey Grazidei. However, their road to the final wasn’t as simple as fans thought it would be after their Viennese Waltz performance earned immense praise.

After their remarkable performance last week, Stephen and Rylee returned to the stage, fully dressed in red, to deliver a Tango-inspired routine. While their dance went relatively well, an unexpected mishap threatened to derail the performance. Midway through the routine, as the pair were fully immersed in their movements, Stephen’s glasses unexpectedly fell off. This posed a significant challenge, as the gymnast struggles to see clearly without them.

Despite the mishap, Stephen and Rylee managed to finish their dance routine, which was warmly received by fans. However, the judges were less impressed, leading to Stephen Nedoroscik landing in the bottom two alongside fellow Olympian Ilona Maher. This left many fans worried that Stephen’s journey on Dancing With the Stars might come to an end, crushing hopes for the coveted trophy. Yet, in a surprising twist, the judges announced that no one would be eliminated, and all contestants would advance to the finals. This news brought a wave of relief to Stephen and his devoted supporters.

One fan really praised the gymnast’s resolve. Despite losing his glasses, he never stopped dancing. The fan said, “Stephen Nedoroscik is a champion to dance his face off so hard his glasses fell off and still kill it on #DWTS! Who needs vision, right?” It is quite tough to reach a final without any hurdles in between. For the gymnast, it came in the form of him losing his glasses. But, despite this, Stephen Nedoroscik still danced his heart out and gave fans an energetic routine. This deserves a lot more appreciation. Thus, along with their natural relief, they showed love to the gymnast too.

Fans are relieved as Stephen Nedoroscik ensures DWTS final qualification

Most fans of Stephen Nedoroscik seemed to be quite tense after the announcement that he was in the bottom two. After all, even though most fans still enjoyed his performance, it was still the weakest among all the other contenders. What made matters worse was that alongside him in the bottom two stood another fan favorite fellow Olympian, Ilona Maher. Fans couldn’t bear to see her leave either. Thus, when it was announced that no elimination would take place, everyone was quite happy about it.

The US Olympics page said, “TWO OLYMPIANS‼️ILONA MAHER & STEPHEN NEDOROSCIK ARE #DWTS FINALE BOUND.” However, fans really did enjoy Stephen Nedoroscik’s performance a lot. The tango style went back to the energeticness that his routines in the first few episodes had. While his slower routines like the Viennese waltz last week earned him the most praise, fans loved this throwback too.

“Stephen Nedoroscik Tango was incredible! I’m so proud of him that he continued dancing with Rylee Arnold despite losing his glasses in the ballroom, which impacted his depth perception & vision! He deserves a spot in the finale! Im so sad that he didn’t get a perfect score!” Stephen ended up getting a score of 28 for his tango, with Judge Carrie Ann giving them only 10. She praised the gymnast a lot for handling the glass mishap like a pro and still leading Rylee Arnold in the dance.

This showed his massive growth as a dancer. But the mishap seemed to make one thing clear. Stephen Nedoroscik seemed to develop a ritual in Dancing with the Stars where he would throw his glasses before the start of the performance. This was done possibly as a play to his Clark Kent persona, which fans bestowed upon him after the Olympics. But it could also have been done just for logistics reasons. The gymnast’s struggles to dance with glasses on seemed to prove this.

One fan said, “We’ve all been wondering why Stephen Nedoroscik has been throwing off his glasses before dancing on #DWTS. Apparently it’s because they normally throw themselves off his face if he doesn’t do it first.” Another question also remained on the fan’s mind. Who takes care of the gymnast’s glasses after he throws them? “I really hope they have someone specifically employed off camera to catch Stephen Nedoroscik’s glasses every time he throws them off! As a glasses-wearing person, this gives me anxiety, lol,” said one fan.

Stephen has crossed eyes, which really affects his vision without the glasses. Thus, he would really struggle without them, and thus someone must take good care. However, the way handled the incident in the semi-finals, it seems that Stephen Nedoroscik is completely determined to win the trophy and nothing could stand in his way stopping him. But, while the outcome of the final still awaits us, there is no doubt that the gymnast has performed way above his capabilities and would leave the show as a winner with others without the trophy.
