Mark the three dates: July 29, August 3, and November 26. On these days, a gymnast from Worcester showed up on three different stages with only one target—to win the trophy. The gymnast already hit the bull’s eye on the first two dates. But the third one is still on the list, waiting to see Stephen Nedoroscik do something bigger. Remember, he was in the Olympics on the first two dates, representing his country. But in the third one, he is all for himself.

But the challenge is no less. In Paris, Nedoroscik had to break down the shackles of jinx. He entered as a pommel horse specialist, who would have to stand up whenever needed. His own limitations didn’t receive any consideration. Fortunately, on both days in Bercy Arena, he passed the tests with full marks. Now, on the third date, he must walk into comparatively unknown territory. He will have to reign on the Dancing with the Stars dance floor. A mountainous challenge! However, he has his dance partner, Rylee Arnold. But does talent and hard work always save the day?

This one question may have made Stephen Nedoroscik think deeply. He had to keep a hold of his blueprint before the dance finale. In Paris, the 26-year-old had been so habituated to doing that. Remember his viral “Clark Kent” avatar? Yes, he used to keep his eyes closed and his head tilted before his final events in Paris.

In the ballroom of DWTS, Stephen Nedoroscik followed the same ritual. On November 26, just hours before their final performance on the stage, Rylee Arnold shared a few visuals on her Snapchat account. In one snippet, Stephen is seen lying on the floor, with eyes closed and hands folded on his chest. Is Clark Kent coming? Or is it just Zen mode? The answer will be on the air in a few more hours. But if you remember Nedoroscik’s statement from The Tonight Show, then, folks, you have already connected the dots.

But what did he reveal on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show? In the loose interaction, Jimmy had the same curiosity. What was Stephen Nedoroscik doing with his eyes closed, sitting on a chair, just before the important contests? The soft-spoken gymnast caught the question promptly and replied. He explained, “We get there earlier, then warm up and then march out and compete. So it was like five hours or so. So finally, when it got to horse, I needed to calm down. So all I’m doing there is, I’m tilting my head back and doing my breathing exercises and visualizing a lot, like, 100 times.” Was he facing a similar situation before the DWTS final?

Rylee Arnold’s upload displays the duo’s presence in the ballroom, already suited for the final. Meanwhile, Nedoroscik appears in the scene in his tux, raring to perform in the night. But the contest hours are yet to come. So the Olympian might be visualizing before entering his third battle on the list. In one snippet, shared on Snapchat, he also sets the mood by saying, “It’s showtime.” He also had his gymnast friends from Stanford to help him with the final juggernaut. Aren’t those enough to calm him up before the final? However, the Penn State alum has another version to justify his demeanor.

Stephen Nedoroscik’s Clark Kent is an outcome of being an Overthinker

Since Stephen Nedoroscik has shown up in the Clark Kent mode, the world is scratching its head to find the reason. The former world champion has had his own takes. And the world of fans has knitted something on its own. The net result? Curiosity has topped the chart. Now you can add today’s scene where he flaunted the demeanor again. So is there something special apart from the aforementioned reason to drive him to take up the mode?

Well, Stephen Nedoroscik is full of answers. A few weeks ago, he appeared on the YouTube podcast, The Squeeze. Meanwhile, the host, Taylor Lautner, asked him the same question. What is the reason for showing up in such a ‘careless’ avatar before the important events? This time, Stephen shared a few additional notes. He claimed, “I am locked in like that because I’m also an overthinker. What’s going on in my head when it looks like I’m just sleeping? It’s like a thousand thoughts a second. Like I’m thinking about like, oh my gosh, like the clock is ticking in 15 minutes. My fate will be determined.” So was he thinking about the upcoming competitions by lying on the floor with his eyes closed? To properly understand the underlying problem, additional discussion may be required. Till then, let us know what you think of it.
