It’s officially the end of an era! As access to the popular social media platform TikTok gets wiped off the face of America, the celebrities in the nation get ready to bid farewell to their army of loyal followers. PS: it took only minutes for this shock to hit the gymnastics community too. And of the first ones to react was none other than Stephen Nedoroscik, whose moves with Dancing With The Stars partner Rylee Arnold were making waves till a few months back. But now, the TikTok blackout has as though pushed him into a vintage dimension!
500.3k followers and 10M+ likes, all snatched away in the blink of an eye! How could Stephen Nedoroscik not react to this? After all, he’s going to miss showing off his Rubik’s Cube best time in his TikTok bio. Or take his American fans by storm with his flip-tastic tumbles or the BTS into his life. Remember how uploading fun practice videos or TikTok trends with Rylee had once become a habitual thing for him? But all that came to an abrupt end today, January 19. So, do you want to how he’s dealing with his ordeal?
Well, Stephen Nedoroscik is adding his signature touch of fun to this hard-to-digest situation. Minutes after TikTok stopped working for the Americans, he took to X as one of the foremost ones from Team USA gymnastics to react to the shutdown. The pommel horse specialist hilariously wrote, “Back in the day we had TikTok.” Well, the way Nedoroscik presented TikTok as something that existed ages ago was quite amusing. Guess he’s ready to joke about it already. Or is he masking his pain under the garb of humor? After all, his TikTok videos were quite the sensation.

This is not all. Stephen Nedoroscik surfaced different reactions on all his social media handles. On Instagram, he first added a story, which featured a close-up of his face. Making a wide-eyed expression, Team USA’s Clark Kent wrote, “TIKTOK NOOOOOOOO!!!,” the shocking tone of the message almost audible to us. But did he stop here? No. When Nedoroscik reacts, he goes all out, doesn’t he? The same happened when he changed his bio on X to, “no longer haver of TikTok.”He even changed his cover picture to a message that read, “Sorry, TikTok isn’t available right now.”

Clearly, Stephen Nedoroscik is turning the ban into one big hilarious deal! But here’s the serious part of why the ban happened. Well, about 170 TikTok users in America were taken aback when the news surfaced that the nation is set to enforce a ban on the platform due to national security concerns. And that turned into a nightmarish reality today when instead of their much-loved content, TikTok users in the USA got a message that popped on their screens, “A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned!”

And while Nedoroscik reacted to the same in his own unique way, other gymnasts have been chiming in with their reactions too. Here’s the update.
Pro-American gymnasts join Stephen Nedoroscik in mourning the TikTok ban
One of the early reactions apart from Stephen Nedoroscik came in from retired Team USA gymnast and 2x Olympic medalist Laurie Hernandez. Hernandez took to X and penned a heartwarming note, “woah my TikTok stopped working hours before I thought it’s shut down. not sure where else to post this, so I’m sending out a huge thank you to all who’ve watched my silly lil videos. it was a place of community, laughter, and iconic fan edits. y’all rock! see you around [emoji].”

Clearly, the gymnastics community used TikTok as a means to connect with their fans, which was unfortunately no longer an option for them. But some even used TikTok as a means of establishing their fanbase and grabbing crucial opportunities in their career. Like LSU super senior Olivia Dunne. Livvy is known for her elite social media presence and TikTok was very much a part of it. Thus, she reacted to the TikTok ban almost instantly, posting a screenshot of the message that left her unable to access her account on her Instagram with a note that went, “time to get the LinkedIn ready.”
Well, some are thanking their fans and others are switching to different applications. Clearly, Stephen Nedoroscik is not alone, as the TikTok shutdown has affected a large chunk of the gymnastics community!
