Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens marked the beginning of their story in 2020 and like many today through a dating app. The NFL star, in the initial stages, revealed to have not known who Simone was. But fast forward three years, the two athletes today stand to be each other’s biggest supporters, through happiness and difficulties alike.

When Owens defended Simone Biles against online criticism

In September, Simone faced criticism online owing to an unlikely behavior during a visit to a shop where someone claimed that the gymnast was rude to a fan. As the tweet started to make rounds, Jonathan stepped right in to defend Biles over the case. “Spreading lies on the internet is crazy, it’s okay for her to deny a picture,” tweeted Owens. “Like why would you try to make her look like that, she’s sweetest person in the world.” he further added.

When he sent the perfect gift for her comeback

After recovering from her ‘twisties,’ Simone made a comeback earlier this year at the 2023 Core Hydration Classic. Simone, though just back from a break, performed excellently and returned to a room filled with flowers. There was a bouquet containing red roses, carnations, and alstroemeria, alongside a glass vase filled with a dozen red roses amidst a sea of white hydrangeas. Metallic balloons adorned with roses awaited Biles after the event.

The biggest cheerleader during performances

Returning from her hiatus, the 2023 Worlds in Antwerp marked one of the most significant stages for Biles. Owens, who supported her throughout her recovery journey, cheered her on as she conquered the stages. Excited for her journey, Owens, commented under a post, ” I can’t wait to watch you back out there,” adding heart eyes. He further updated every moment of the event on Instagram; showcasing his continued support.

Proudly showcasing love during NFL matches

Ever since declaring their relationship to the spectators, the couple hasn’t shied away from PDA. While entering the grounds or moving back in, Owens ensures to acknowledge Simone’s presence with a kiss or a hug. During the Packers vs Chiefs game on December 4th, the NFL star made a brief stop before heading onto the ground to put on a spectacle. A kiss and a fist bump for Simone was what Jonathan needed to start the day.

Building the dreamhouse with her in Texas, a city Simone Biles loves

It was in March, a month before their wedding that the couple declared to be building a forever home. Sharing the news, Simone wrote, “A home is made with love & dreams … cheers to breaking ground.” Houston, Texas happens to be the place where Simone grew up. And, building their home there only showcases the duo’s strengthened relationship.
