The closest person Simone Biles had in her life while coursing through her troubled childhood was her little sister, Adria. Living with drug-addict parents and in foster care after that was not easy. However, the two sisters always stuck together, finding their way into the world, which was still a mystery to their young minds.

Since Simone was three years older than Adria, caring for her little sister came naturally to her. Though from Adria’s point of view, it always felt like she was being bossy and authoritative. However, once she realized the real reason behind her acting in such a fashion. It completely changed her perception of her elder sister.

What brought the change of heart for Adria Biles regarding her Olympian sister?

As a child, it must have been tough to comprehend Simone’s actions, but soon Adria could see that she was only trying to protect and look out for her. About the complete change in her perception, Adria said, “Well, I thought growing up it was like oh my god she’s so bossy, but now I know it’s like she was trying to protect me.”

Just like Simone Biles, her doppelgänger sister was also into gymnastics and competed at the junior elite level. However, later she switched her interest to academics and is now studying to be a dentist.

According to Simone’s mother, Nellie Biles, “She really was nurturing and mothering to Adria. They had a very close and to this day that bond is still there.”

Although Simone got separated from her parents as a young kid, she showed profound maturity in caring for her younger sister. What she did as a 6-year-old kid was beyond her age. Perhaps this is the reason the two sisters are inseparable even today.

Talking about what made her realize her responsibility towards her sister, the gymnastics GOAT said, “I wanted to take care of Adria obviously because she was the baby. I just felt like I need to look out for her because if family doesn’t look out for you who is going to?”
