Sweet redemption! After several batterings at the hands of the Green Bay Packers, it looks like the Chicago Bears have finally found their feet for the first time since 2018, and none looks happier than the safety, Jonathan Owens. Simone Biles’ husband was spotted expressing his jubilation after scoring an emphatic point, but his elation seems to have become just another meme-worthy moment for the Gymnastics GOAT’s fans.
Fox Sports: NFL shared a brief clip on X on January 5, showcasing how Owens made a failed attempt at a Lambeau leap after recovering a fumble that ultimately set up a D’Andre Swift touchdown. “Jonathan Owens might need to take some leaping advice from his wife,” reads the caption of the post, and the fans weren’t letting the opportunity go either.
With her gymnastics duties currently being on a halt, Simone Biles was once again among the fans to support her hubby for the big day. When Owens signed with Chicago after just one year at Green Bay, fans were anxious to see how things would pan out for the NFL star, and games with his old squad have become highly anticipated since. Naturally, Simone rarely misses the opportunity to ensure Jonathan isn’t feeling the pressure while facing his old teammates. And yet, her presence couldn’t give Owens the extra motivation to execute the high-octane leap properly.

But Owens could be given a pass. With the early momentum he helped Chicago gain, the Bears went on to win over their arch-enemies for the first time in almost 7 years, making tonight’s game one to remember. And yet, for fans, it was the antics of Biles’ beau that became the highlight of Week 18.
"Jonathan Owens.. who's married to one of the great leapers of all time in @Simone_Biles. Who had to be shaking her head when she saw that."

In the video, Owens can be seen slamming against the barricades as his jump falls embarrassingly short of reaching the fans in the stands. Instead, the safety tumbles on the ground and can be seen massaging his aching back soon after. “Bears can’t leap,” joked one Simone Biles fan, who wants to remind that the mascot of Owens’ new camp isn’t exactly known for being the most athletic creature out there. Others wasted no time in having a laugh at Jonathan’s expense either.
Simone Biles’ fans have some genuine questions about JO’s prowess
‘That looked painful,” commented a fan. “That was terrible,” said another, while another noted how Jonathan Owens displayed none of the incredible fitness that his wife is famous for, writing, “Mr. Simone Biles is unathletic.” With 7 Olympic gold medals under her name, the Houston native’s elite status within the gymnastics community is beyond a shred of doubt. And let’s not forget Simone Biles defying gravity with her insane 12-foot jump during her floor routine’s triple-double move.
Yes, 12 feet, which is high enough to clear even the towering Victor Wembanyama, the tallest active NBA player at 7’4″! Naturally, fans can’t stop being amused at how her stellar feats haven’t been able to inspire her beau to take more inspiration from Simone’s routines. However, that doesn’t mean that Owens always fails to impress his fans and Olympian wife. Last November at Soldier Field Owens’ backflip created a wholesome moment as he fulfilled his promise to Biles for the entire arena to see.

Coincidentally, that also happened after a forced fumble, and the fans went “aww.” But the scenes from tonight were way different, and one fan suggested that Simone should take up the responsibility of showing Owens how things are done. “Do you think she could coach him?” pondered the fan.
When Owens joked about being the “catch” in his relationship with Biles in 2023, fans were already in two minds about taking his word for it. And now, his latest fall only prompted more fans to remember the statement, but from a funny angle. “And this man really thought he was the prize,” chuckled one such fan. “worst attempt ive ever seen,” grunted another fan about Owens’ failed Lambeau leap.
