With three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the gymnast is riding on Cloud 9. And yet, having to stay away from her beau, Jonathan Owens, because of his NFL responsibilities continues to throw shade on her jubilation. But Biles has just the thing to keep her mind off her long-distance relationship with the football safety.

In an Instagram story from August 22, Simone shared the new mechanical beast she’s brought into her house. From the looks of it, her trusty companion of years, the Mercedes AMG G63, will be parting ways with the Olympian. Captioned, “out with the old🥹🖤,” the story showed Biles posing beside the car for one last time as the sun – rather poetically – set in the background.

However, Simone sported an even broader smile on her face in the very next story, where she was sitting pretty on the hood of her new car: a brand new white Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, complete with a giant white bow on the windshield. “in with the NEW🤍🥹😍” she wrote.

Along with the high price tag of the car, Biles looked to have customized the entire interior of the machine with reddish-orange upholstery, making its overall cost a little over $200,000. The iconic luxury off-roader will be the gymnastics sensation’s new ride and could become the reliable pal that the AMG G63 was for Simone.

As Biles and Owens’ new abode nears completion, it looks like the country’s most decorated gymnast of all time is redoing the house in other aspects than just planning out the kitchens and living areas.

The gymnast and the NFL have been meticulously designing every single facet of their house for months, and the new addition to their vehicular fleet is already looking like a hit. Interestingly, Simone Biles checked up on the Texas mansion when she revealed her new car. Sharing a picture of the kitchen, the 27-year-old wrote, “so excited to make this house a HOME,” also giving fans a timeline: “a couple more months :)” That said, although this house will start becoming a home soon, it looks like neither Biles nor Owens will be spending much time there to begin with.

Less than a week after their wedding last May, Jonathan Owens had to head to the Green Bay Packers training camp to prepare for the NFL season. Simone Biles, on the other hand, continued to script her gymnastics comeback. So, their marriage soon became long-distance, which Biles recalled being difficult and “different.” A year on, following their summer at the Olympics, Owens is back in pre-season training. But this time, it’s with the Chicago Bears.

As for Simone, she’ll be headlining the Gold Over America Tour (GOAT), a pop concert-style tour around the US (32 stops, to be precise) celebrating world-class gymnasts from September 16 to November 3. In a TikTok video she recently posted, the 11-time Olympic medalist said, “I’m not sure how many [NFL] games I’ll be able to make because, in a few weeks, we go on tour.” So, the power couple is set to spend some more time apart in the coming months.

But with Biles’ tour ending at the halfway mark of the 2024 NFL season, the gymnast will most likely be in the stands for every Bears game in the second half, cheering on her husband. Speaking of Jonathan Owens playing for the Bears as opposed to the Packers in 2023, Simone Biles’ travel is set to become lesser, too. She tweeted, “I’m so excited about not having a connecting flight [between Texas and Wisconsin] to go & see my husband.” Who knows? Maybe she might even take her new G-Wagon for the long road trip from Texas to Chicago (although that won’t help with the time spent traveling).

That said, while it remains to be seen if Biles enjoys her new car as much as she did her last, this could well fuel more winds to the fire raging across social media over the past few days.

Has a new wave of criticism landed upon Simone Biles?

After the completion of the 33rd Olympic Games, news of Simone’s birth mother, Shanon Biles, expressing her wishes to reconcile with her eldest daughter shocked the world. The gymnastics community was moved to learn that Shanon has been swamped with her medical troubles while financial burdens remain a major hurdle in her life.

Working as a Save A Lot cashier, Shanon revealed in an interview with Daily Mail that her life hadn’t been the smoothest ride. Naturally, many fans claimed that Simone should do something to help the person who brought her to the world. However, the fact that Shanon abandoned her children due to her own dr*g problems made the whole issue debatable, as others opined that Simone didn’t owe Shanon anything after what the latter had to go through during those years in foster care.

The debate arose after the gymnastics icon shared a photo of her new Hermes bag on social media, irking some fans by ‘flaunting’ her wealth when her biological mom was finding it difficult to cope with the hardships of life. Even though she didn’t need to justify her bag, she wrote on Instagram Threads, “my parents bought me my Hermes bag 🥰” Her parents, as in her grandparents (who adopted Simone). Despite the backlash, it’s clear that Simone has her head in the clear about where she stands on the matter.

On the other hand, considering how Simone and her siblings had a tough childhood and how difficult the gymnast has worked through the years to become one of the greatest stars of the sport in history, few would argue she doesn’t deserve any of the luxuries that come her way.
