Simone Biles and Cecile Landi are back at it again, hitting another major milestone in their rock-solid relationship. After helping Biles crush the impossible at the Paris Olympics, Landi decided to shake things up in her career. She stepped out of her comfort zone at WCC and joined the University of Georgia as co-head coach for the GymDogs, teaming up with Ryan Roberts to mold the next generation of gymnastic stars. And guess what?
The Georgia GymDogs are about to get a serious dose of GOAT magic. Thanks to her close bond with Landi, Biles is set to attend Georgia’s season opener as the guest of honor. Landi couldn’t hide her excitement, sharing the big news on her Instagram story with a sweet message: “I can’t wait to see you. 😘 😘” Mark your calendars—on January 17, Biles will cheer on Georgia as they take on Boise State.
But this isn’t the first time the dynamic duo has reunited since Landi’s leap to the NCAA scene. They’ve had a few heartwarming meetups post-WCC, proving that their connection is as strong as ever. From the start, Landi and Biles clicked like chalk on a bar, with Landi bringing fresh energy to coaching. Forget the old-school “push through the pain” mantra—Landi turned that on its head, prioritizing mental health, a move that was crucial for Biles during her twisties saga.

When Landi first began coaching Biles, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. Let’s face it—Biles was already the GOAT. So, how do you improve perfection? Landi summed it up perfectly in an interview with Olympics.com: “When we started coaching Simone, I would say that we had a different kind of pressure because everyone was waiting for us, maybe, to mess up. ‘How can you get her better? How can you make her better?’ I don’t know, but she can do more. And she did.”

Thus, working together, Cecile and her husband Laurent Landi also a coach to Simone often had to manage and change their schedule to train Biles. With great fame comes a great deal of responsibility. For the 7x Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles she’s on her toes! From brand promotions, photoshoots, interviews, and even traveling to NFL games to cheer her husband Jonathan Owens, and so on. But the Landis ensured that Biles never missed a training session! Before her departure from the WCC, Landi detailed what made Biles the ‘GOAT’.
Landi said, “She’s calm, she laughs, she’s back to her sometimes goofy self that we had missed a few times, She has a few tools that are personal to her, which help her stay calm and remember why she’s here and how to think positively.” Surely, getting such a supportive coach had surely made Biles get to her major goals without any fuss. Returning the favor, the 27-year-old too has supported Cecile Landi in all her major decisions.
