Have you ever heard of a ‘last gift of the year?’ Well, Bears’ safety Jonathan Owens, who can be a tough nut on the football field or even a geek in the gallery of a gymnastics contest, certainly finds creative ways to lead a very romantic life with his star wife, Simone Biles. The new year is here, and now, it’s time to see that romantic tale make a strong finish for what was a fantastic 2024 for the star couple!

You would think the last gift of the year would live and breathe in the lap of luxury or thematically scream what most like to classify as “living it large.” But it was the gesture that counted for Biles, a routine something that Owens does every week since they got married. Let’s get the guess game rolling?

Hint: As recent as days after the Bears were defeated by the Lions on Dec 22, Olympics.com dropped an exclusive interview with Simone Biles where she was asked “What’s the best gift he’s gotten you?” and vice versa. For Owens, she cheekily responded, “Obviously, that’d be me” before adding that it was a Rolex that he had long awaited. And the best gift she’s ever received? “What’s the best gift? Honestly, I’m not very materialistic.” If you don’t know the answer yet, it’s this:

It’s probably my weekly flowers. He buys me flowers every week, and that’s my favorite,” Simone Biles said. On December 31, Simone Biles shared an Instagram story with a lovely caption. And as routine dictates, she received her weekly love gift in the form of a bouquet. She wrote, “last flowers of 2024 [emoji] ilysm @jowens.” The story displayed a bouquet full of roses of several colors. For the gymnast, the year started with a tale of loneliness when she was forced to spend her time in the couple’s Texas home while Jonathan remained engaged in his professional duty playing as a Packer. Simone had no way out to break the chain, as she also had grand plans for the year.

In those days, Simone Biles was looking to make a comeback to the national team. At 26, the task demanded something huge from her- the added commitment. However, the Olympian stood top at the test and brought a dramatic ending to her Paris Olympic stint, which she had named “Redemption Tour.” Meanwhile, the NFL safety continued to stand alongside her. First, he shifted from the Green Bay Packers to the Chicago Bears. The change in the NFL regiments shortened the geographical distance between the couple. Moreover, in the pre-season, Owens earned a special leave from the Bears only to attend the Paris Olympics and cheer for his wife.

The gymnastics fans remained witness to JO’s boisterous presence at Bercy Arena in each of Simone’s games. He did everything from the stand to cheer the former Olympic champion. The neat result? Biles left the French capital snagging four medals (including three golds). She completed her Redemption Tour with a fairy tale ending. The achievement made JO proud. Later, the time came to have support from his wife.

Nonetheless, Simone reciprocated by showing her support at every NFL game this season her husband played and being affectionate in public. Her attire often attracted eyes. Meanwhile, the couple’s PDAs gave new goals to the fans. The atmosphere persisted as Jonathan’s considerate New Year’s Eve present reignited Simone’s affection for him. However, Simone Biles had her own plans to commemorate the last day of the year.

On December 31, Simone Biles received a present from her spouse. On December 25, she also enjoyed time with Jonathan Owens. All these experiences could represent the traditions. But don’t count the seven-time Olympic champion as a firm believer in rituals or customs. She doesn’t have any resolutions set for the new year.

Yes, the most skilled elite gymnast doesn’t believe in setting New Year’s resolutions. Any reason to have such a mindset? In an interaction, the 27-year-old claimed, “No, because I feel like you always break them. I don’t have any.” But she has a few goals for the upcoming year. “Besides relaxing and going on a couple of vacations with my husband, I’m really just trying to be involved in the community as much as I can, as well as giving back,” Simone Biles revealed. No, it is not about gymnastics anymore. She has crossed that mark in 2024. At the end hours of 2024, she displayed the same mindset. How? In her post to welcome the New Year, Simone had more pictures of her personal life than her professional one. You can guess.
