Haleigh Bryant had one of the best NCAA runs last year. Going through a dream season, Bryant ended up clinching the NCAA all-around championship. Such a feat established her as one of the biggest names in the realm of college gymnastics. And there are ample reasons for the same. It is not only the all-around title that Bryant has won. Her decorated career includes 18 perfect 10s, 27 All-America honors, along with the prestigious ‘gym slam’, that makes her one of the best in the business.
And now, after a stellar fourth season, Haleigh Bryant is back for the fifth season at LSU. Now, Bryant has already revealed that she would want to put her hands on yet another championship for LSU. And as the NCAA season draws near, the hype around the college gymnast is skyrocketing among the fans. In a recent episode of the ‘Coaches Corner With Jay Clark’ podcast on Spotify, a fan had an interesting query to make. The fan wanted to know whether Bryant would be doing the all-around every week throughout the season or if she would be resting a bit more this time. In response to the question, Clark stated that competing in all the apparatuses for 15 weeks straight is not a matter of joke. In fact, Clark did not want anyone to go through the tough phase of being an all-arounder throughout the season too. And it was no different for Haleigh Bryant.
However, Clark also mentioned that with the competition so stiff in the SEC, there’s very little room for error. Thus, sometimes, certain harsh decisions had to be taken for the overall benefit of the team. Speaking on determining the routines Bryant will perform, Coach Clark mentioned that the existing injuries and resting periods will be considered. “And, and so when you, you know, you, we, we, we wanna win too. And so it’s, you know, we, we try to, we try to give opportunities where we can, we try to make sure we put our best foot forward, we look at rest needs, we look at potential injuries that we’re nursing or things like that.”
Clark also mentioned how Bryant had kept herself fit and thus, ended up performing all-around more times than not last year. This year too, the plan with Bryant is similar. Of course, after taking into consideration the impending injury scenario of Bryant and her fellow gymnasts. Meanwhile, as the time gets closer for a brand new NCAA season, Haleigh Bryant has spilled the beans on what exactly her aims are this season.
Bryant looks to end NCAA season with ‘no regrets’
Haleigh Bryant is here for the fifth season at LSU. It is not only because of expanding her records. While that would be a part of the process, Bryant’s only goal at this point is to pull out a repeat of last year. Talking about winning an NCAA championship two years in a row is much easier than being done. But Bryant is trying hard not to let the negativities seep in.

And while she is looking to go into the season giving all her best efforts, the champion is not ready to take up additional pressure. She stated that despite the goal being the championship, the team needs to ensure that they have done everything possible in their might to make sure that the NCAA title comes back to LSU again. The hard work put in must be to such an extent that even if failure comes, there will be no room for regret. “And when we get to the
competitions, no matter what the result is, I just want us to be able to look back and say we did everything possible and to end it with no regrets,” said Bryant. Thus, with goals set for the new season, it remains to be seen how LSU performs in their quest to go two on two in winning the NCAA title.
