In the Paris Olympics, Rebeca Andrade put every ounce of her effort into the events she competed in. In the individual all-around final, she challenged Simone Biles and Suni Lee and bagged the silver medal. On the very first day of the apparatus finals, the Brazilian claimed the silver medal in the vault. However, on the third day of the apparatus finals, Andrade failed to mark success in the beam final. She missed the podium and settled for the fourth position. Well, on the same day, she came back stronger in the floor exercise final and bagged the gold medal, defeating Biles and Jordan Chiles. But what about the uneven bars final? Didn’t she enter it?

Yes, Andrade didn’t show up in the uneven bars final at the Paris Olympics. Furthermore, in March this year, the 25-year-old had to experience a loss to Melanie de Jesus dos Santos in the same event at the Antalya World Challenge Cup. A massive blow to someone like Rebeca Andrade, the most decorated gymnast in South America! But now it seems the Sao Paulo native has fixed her mind on upping her skills on the uneven bars. Recently, the fans have unearthed a video of her practicing some phenomenal moves on the uneven bars. And how’s it?

On December 19, the Instagram handle Planet of Gymnastics shared a snippet, focusing on Rebeca Andrade’s practice session in the gym. The clip shows her skills on the uneven bars, and it looks majestic. Why so? The clip frames Andrade doing an inbar or piked stalder. The schedule, with a difficulty level of ‘D,’ poses to be challenging for any gymnast.

Yet in the clip, Rebeca Andrade can be seen doing turns relentlessly. That made the fans hopeful about her, adding a new skill to her arsenal. In the comment box, one such fan penned, “Makes it look effortless.” Interestingly, the comment came from Dr. Brittany Lapinski, a gymnastics coach. She has another identity—she used to be an LV10/D1 gymnast in her early days. Andrade’s latest skill on the bars mesmerized her. Wouldn’t that be something to celebrate? It certainly is.

Rebeca Andrade is creating waves even four months after the Paris Olympics. However, she has yet to slip any words on her next elite gymnastics target. Yet she looks solid in her fitness and skills. The seconds-long clip didn’t show her landing after her turns. Even it didn’t frame her changing the grips and bars. Yet everything looked so magical. Why? Because of her concentration in perfecting the skill.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Rebeca Andrade's relentless practice on the uneven bars lead to a gold medal next time?

Have an interesting take?

In the clip, Rebeca Andrade kept herself on the low bar, flinging her body forward. She didn’t make any backward movement. Instead, she kept it simple, doing turns holding the same grip and position. At 25, movements like these may demand so much from the body. That’s where Rebeca Andrade shot a bingo. She kept on doing her turns without stopping. Eventually, from such a point, she could form pirouettes on her hands. That would increase the difficulty rate. Also, it might turn out to be a new skill. The fans felt overjoyed seeing this. In the comment box, they celebrated the return of the Brazilian gymnastics queen with their flowers. With that, they also highlighted the threat Andrade might bring to the reigning Olympic uneven bars champion.

Fans claim Rebeca Andrade’s latest skill may be a threat to Kaylia Nemour

In the Paris Olympics, Kaylia Nemour excelled in the uneven bars event final. The Algerian gymnast claimed the gold medal after scoring 15.700 in the final. Her score stood to be 0.200 more than the runner-up’s. Even the 2020 Olympic champion, Suni Lee, fell short in front of her fireworks in the final. The USA gymnast scored 14.800 in the final, accepting a defeat by almost a 0.900 score. So what led to such a huge score for Nemour? Her mastery in the inbar. Even she has her eponymous skill in the routine, named “Inbar Nabieva.” FIG’s code of points has scaled it to be “G.” But as per fans, Rebeca Andrade may soon topple her.

On Instagram, one such comment was, “She said if I’m done with the leg events, Kaylia better watch out!!!” Andrade claims a revered position because of her mastery of the vault and floor exercise events. Now, fans are counting on her to usurp the uneven bars event as well. Another fan displayed a similar fandom over the fresh skill. In the comment box, his/her comment came, “She’s coming for that Olympic medal. 😮‍💨” However, Andrade has yet to share anything about her entry in the LA 2028 Olympics. But hopefully, she will have a chance to challenge Kaylia Nemour in the coming days. In the meantime, a few fans claimed to bet on her for her skills on the bars. According to them, they had always been sure about Rebeca’s hidden talent in the bars.

The concerned comment read, “I always thought she would have beautiful in-bars.” That may not go overboard, as this year, Rebeca gave some memorable performances on the uneven bars in the Brazil Trophy. Still, the latest one is the best. A fan confirmed this on X (previously, Twitter). The fan wrote, “When I tell you my jaw is on the floor.” Another fan went an extra step and claimed, “It looks SO BEAUTIFUL.” The harmonic turns simply captured the attraction, whereas Rebeca made it magical by giving her touch.
