Boryana Kaleyn was always regarded as one of the finest gymnasts to have come out of Europe. The Bulgarian had won four gold medals, two silver medals, and three bronze medals, showing her worth to the gymnastics community. But what she earned in Paris would always be special to her.

Boryana won the first medal for Bulgaria in gymnastics since 1988, as she won the silver in the all-around competition with 140.600. This made her lifelong dream of an Olympic medal come true. Thus, this moment will always be special to her. Now, she has decided to announce retirement, ending her career on a glorious note that many can only dream of. Boryana mainly felt that after his extreme success in the Paris Olympics, she possibly wouldn’t have achieved anything greater.

The gymnast said, “It took me about four months for this decision because after the Olympics I want to have rest, to enjoy my medal, to have a little bit of time with my family, and after that I had very much time to think only about this, but at the end I decided to retire because I won a lot of medals during the years. I’m very happy about my results, and for me, this is a happy end.” Boryana was also asked whether her Olympic medal would always be the pinnacle of her gymnastics career.

Boryana answered affirmatively and agreed that it was her childhood dream to win an Olympic medal. She then went on to add about that her list of ambitions is now complete, which is why she’s now ready to leave the gymnastics chapter of her life behind.

Many gymnastics community members praised Boryana Kaleyn for her contribution. Throughout her years in the sport, the gymnast has earned a lot of praise for her incredible performances in both the European scene in sports and most of the competitions globally. Not only has that increased her standing in the eyes of the fans, it has also improved her identity as a gymnast within her peers.

Thus, one of them, two-time German all-around champion Margarita Kosolov, was one of the first people to congratulate her in the comments.
