With the commencement of the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, the action in Antwerp has begun in full force. After witnessing the Men’s qualification, it was day 1 of the Women’s qualification on the 1st of October. The team USA women’s squad dominated the arena by concluding the day with a total of 171.395.

Interestingly, as the team USA made it to the spotlight, Simone Biles also shined brightly on the vault after claiming her beloved Yurchenko Double Pike to her name as Biles II and fiercely made it to the code of points. Nonetheless, it is not only Biles who garnered the praises. Her compatriots also made a haven in the hearts of millions. Among them, the 17-year-old Jocelyn Roberson received a special mention from French Gymnastics coach Cecile Landi.

Another gymnast attained appreciation after the artistic gymnastics 2023

In the span of two days, the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship has seen multiple outstanding performances. But when Simone Biles entered all eyes were glued on her. Despite such an impactful performance, Joscelyn Roberson attained appreciation from the trainer Cecile Landi.

Landi shared a story on her Instagram handle, where she reposted a photo from the USA Gymnastics of Roberson performing a trick and expressed, “Proud of you Joscelyn.”?

The USA team has attained the highest points of 171.395 and is in 1st place on the scoreboard. Most of the points were raised with Biles’ score in vault (14.949), beam (14.566), floor (14.633), and all-around score of 58.865. However, as Shilese Jones grabbed the 2nd spot alongside Biles in three of the four apparatus (balance beam, floor excercise, Uneven bars), Roberson took the reins on scoreboard with Simone Biles on vault, as the 17-year-old scored 14.049.

Joscelyn Roberson’s journey to her debut at the World Artistic 2023

It wasn’t long ago when Joscelyn Roberson was training at the small gymnastics club in her hometown, and the next thing we know she is making her debut at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship 2023. She wanted to learn the skill back salto with two flips and two twists because her favorite gymnasts began their floor routine with these elements.

Today she has given a commendable performance in the Floor exercise at the worlds. She started with a double twisting double layout, then floated a full-twisting double layout. With this, she followed with the skill of front layout full to double tuck, stuck. Then ended with a front layout walkout to double pike scoring a 13.633.

More so, like Simone Biles, Roberson also faced an uphill battle with twisties since she was 8, but she came back stronger and clinched a multitude of triumphs in her beloved arena of gymnastics.

Training under Cecile and Laurent Landi, she has gained the confidence and skills to perform terrifically in the worlds. Biles, however, dominated the entire set of events with her incomparable moves and practices.
