President Joe Biden Indirectly Slams Simone Biles’ Haters, Proving Her Iconic Contribution To Sports World: “Don’t Know If You’re Gonna Find Room”

The list of achievements in the life of Simone Biles seems never-ending. With 32 Olympic and World Championship medals already in her cabinet, Simone is the most decorated American gymnast of all time. Apart from holding various records, Biles also has 4 moves named after her in gymnastics. The latest in a long line of achievements is her Presidential Medal of Freedom. And Simone, being Simone, created another record as she accepted the medal. Biles became the youngest ever recipient of the highest civilian honor in the States.

But, the honor rubbed many people the wrong way, as many of them claimed it to be a wrong decision. But President Joe Biden’s words just before presenting Biles with the medal are an apt justification of why she was given the medal.

President Biden’s words of appreciation for Simone Biles

The 2022 President’s Medal ceremony saw 17 people garner the valuable honor. The list included Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs (honored posthumously), actor Denzel Washington and athletes Simone Biles and Megan Rapinoe. While people were happy with most recipients, Biles’ name wasn’t well received.

Before honoring Simone, Biden took a minute to talk about her achievements and clarify why she was chosen. The President said, “Simone Biles is the most decorated American gymnast in history. Everyone stops everything, every time she was on camera, just to watch. Just to see her. When we see her compete, we see her unmatched. Unmatched power and determination, grace and daring. A trailblazer and a role model when she stands on the podium. She sees, we see what she is; absolute courage.”

He added, “To turn personal pain into a greater purpose. To stand up and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Today she adds to her medal count.” Biden continued to joke about where she would keep the 33rd medal and if she’d even have the place to store so many medals. “I don’t know how you’re gonna find room?” The Prez finally introduced Simone as the youngest ever recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Jenna Ellis’ opposition to the medal

An important member of the Trump administration’s legal team was Jenna Ellis. The legal advisor to Trump is one of the most significant critics of the decision to honor Biles with the medal.

In a series of tweets, Ellis let her feelings known about the decision. The first tweet called out Joe Biden, Simone Biles, and Megan Rapinoe, in which Jenna called them all ‘losers.’ Explaining why she called them a loser, Ellis posted another tweet in which she addressed Rapinoe as ‘UnAmerican’ and called Biles a ‘selfish quitter.’ Biles took matters into her hands as she tweeted, asking who Jenna Ellis was. But Ellis’ reply to this tweet left everyone scratching their heads. She wrote, “Sorry Biles, you can’t date me.”
