The reasons started to come to light soon after the Olympics when Carlos Yulo engaged in a public feud with Angelica Yulo (his mother). Yulo accused his mother of mishandling his finances and even taking money from his professional meetings without informing him. In a TikTok video, he said, “When I finally got control of that bank account, I found out she had been draining it. I have the bank statements showing the withdrawals she made.”

However, his mother said whatever she did was for her son’s betterment—to protect him. She held a press conference to clear the allegations and ask for an apology. “I ask for your forgiveness as a concerned mother. You are mature enough to make your own decisions. Our door is always open, regardless of your financial status.”

That was not enough; Angelica even blames San Jose, the gymnast’s girlfriend, for creating a rift between the mother and son.

Model and influencer Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose also faced the heat from Yulo’s fans. Recently, when she shared her modeling career achievements, she got backlash for how selfishly she took the limelight from her Olympian boyfriend. Carlos Yulo is not in good terms with his gold medalist brother, as well. Karl Eldrew Yulo clinched gold at the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships and Junior Asian Championships.

Questions persist about how Yulo has overcome his financial and relationship struggles. Family feuds take time to resolve, and when the hearts become sour, things take time to get back on track. We wish things get better in Carlos Yulo’s life and family lives happily together.
