Even though the league consists of numerous Olympic champions, the success of individual athletes doesn’t result in dominating the top ranks, which astonishes fans and experts. As an illustration, Oklahoma has been on fire through team standings, though the players have to look for their own spots in the Week 2 NCAA listings.
Then, come the performances, event-wise, where athletes achieve excellence in such categories as vault and uneven bars, which brings about a certain contrast to the league that relates consistency and adaptability to succeed rather than just past glory. Top 10 rankings have been released as per the full collegiate recruiting. What does it say?
The official X page of All Things Out Gymnastics Podcast posted the rankings of top gymnasts and gymnastics teams. The University of Oklahoma got a total of 197.750 points and was placed on the top of the university list of NCAA gymnasts. LSU placed second with a very small margin of 0.275, and even third place is unexpected. Alabama got third place with 197.025 points, and what’s the unexpected?

The unexpected is that Jordan Chiles, who is one of the legends in gymnastics, her university is not in the top 10 rankings anywhere. Strange, right? More than that, she is not even in the individual rankings of week 2. Then, who got the top rankings in individuals?
The top individuals rankings are released event-wise. The Vault has the overall rating of 9.95, and two gymnasts of Kentucky University have been ranked in this particular event or apparatus: Mackenzie Wilson and Anna Flynn Cashion. And one from Florida Gators got the individual rank.

LSU topped the floor exercise with 9.963 points by Filipino-American gymnast Aleah Finnegan and the uneven bars, as only Oklahoma by Audrey Davis with 9.963 points for week 2. Despite the rankings, there are gymnasts who have overshadowed legends.
The underdogs steal the show
Gymnasts like Leanne Wong and Aleah Finnegan have their Olympic dues, but they have played underdogs and secured a place in week 2 NCAA rankings. Balance Beam and All-round rankings have been snatched by Florida Gators—Leanne Wong. The balance beam has a score of 9.95, and the all-around has 39.725 points.

At the end of the second week, the newcomers outdid even Olympians like Jordan Chiles. They clearly proved that the NCAA is not just about what you did before but about being the same in each game and adapting to the college format. This is similar to the power of the team and the individual inner strength, which can be way better than the brightest stars.
Olympic-caliber athletes like Wong and Finnegan are confronted with difficulties, whereas regular college athletes, who do not have the Olympic weight on them, take over the stage. The NCAA is still going on; it is to be seen how the rankings will change in upcoming weeks. If other new gymnasts will shine or seniors will show up again.
