You may recognize Simone Biles as the pride of American gymnastics, but she has an expansive personality beyond the sport. Embracing the demanding world of gymnastics undoubtedly highlights her exceptional athletic abilities; also noted from her recently added fifth named move. She also achieved the most World and Olympic medals in both male and female category, as updated last week in Antwerp, Belgium. Reflecting on her journey, the gymnast once remarked, “It?s not always about winning… People, I think, mistake that it?s just about winning.”

Still fresh off her second professional hiatus, Biles triumphantly navigated through the athletic spotlight intensified by her withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympics. Just recently, the ‘What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger’ singer Kelly Clarkson shared a touching tribute in response to Biles’ success.

For Americans particularly, Simone Biles’ return to Antwerp’s Sportpaleis was more than cause for celebration. She moved her name to the top of the gymnastics tally becoming the most decorated gymnast with a total of 37 medals in the history of the sport. Her victorious exit compelled American singer, songwriter, and TV personality Kelly Clarkson to share a hearty Instagram post to congratulate her. Clarkson captioned the post, “Look, I would settle for the ability to do a kart wheel like?@simonebiles”

‘A moment like this’ the singer further added, “She is magnificent!! My gosh, I feel blessed to just get to watch her!” The week-long elite gymnastics event kept spectators on the edge with marginal finishes across the four apparatuses. Notably, Simone achieved a groundbreaking feat, becoming the only gymnast to execute the Yurchenko double pike on an international stage, earning her fifth eponymous move (Biles II).

As the days commenced she led her troupe to win a seventh team’s first-rank finish at the World Gymnastics Championship. Later, she won her sixth gold all-around in six world visits, the first in 2013 and a decade back last week both being at the same venue.

In the individual apparatus finals, Biles won two golds on the balance beam and floor followed by a silver on the vault. One medal more than her previous victorious homecoming from Antwerp as a debutant the nostalgia was all the reason to be emotional.

Simone Biles’s overwhelmed reaction at Worlds

Following her last performance, Biles was seen visibly moved, with tears in her eyes as she stood on the podium alongside silver medalist Rebeca Andrade and bronze medalist Shilese Jones while the American national anthem played. Later she said, ?I was emotional because it was my first worlds here, 10 years ago, and then now my sixth one, so it’s crazy.??

After 2019, Biles has not competed at the World Championships. After the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, when she struggled with the “twisties” episode, she did not compete in gymnastics for the full of 2022.
