The excitement has reached its zenith and even attracted former Olympians to compete in the Orleans Arena. However, the jubilations were replaced with disappointment and concern when the final whistle went off after the first day of the event yesterday.

This year, the event organizers partnered with Paramount Pictures to promote the Mean Girls Movie before the release of another installment of the franchise. This was a strategic move to bring in more Gen Z audiences to the event, but the commentators may have taken things too far.

The Mean Girls Super 16 Gymnastics Championships promised entertainment value with its novel concept of combining gymnastics performances with the movie’s free-spirited essence. For this purpose, the organizers chose two stalwart figures in the realm of the sport to act as commentators for the two-day competition. Auburn’s Jeff Graba, who coached Sunisa Lee, and retired LSU coach DD Breaux were the perfect choices to fit the theme. However, when the duo came to the job, they were totally unprepared and spoiled the viewers’ mood.

Neither Jeff Graba nor DD Breaux fully grasped the new theme. They went on to make small talk about unrelated matters. Subsequently, the fans have left angry comments on social media for both Jeff Graba and DD Breaux, expressing their disappointment in their lack of understanding and engagement with the event.
