A New Direction For Laurie

On Wednesday, Laurie announced that she is now an official children’s advocate as she joins UNICEF USA. It is obvious to determine that the athlete has now made a new stride in her activism. The athlete took to Instagram to share with more than one million users that she has committed herself to helping underserved children.

Laurie shared some beautiful pictures of her quality time with children, captioning, “Something big happened today- I’m honored to join @UNICEFUSA as its newest Ambassador – and I’m committing to advocating for children’s rights today and forever.

Recently, UNICEF Panama and UNICEF USA teamed up to visit a Reception center in Panama. The newest addition, Laurie, also joined the team. Later, 1500 migrated children arrived at the center after being subjected to financial scrutiny and unfortunate circumstances, hoping to find a solution to their problems. Besides Laurie, many athletes have joined UNICEF over the years to help solve these children’s everyday issues.

UNICEF Extension: Messi’s Philanthropy

Lionel Messi is a big name with a big income source. From endorsements to wages, he makes $60 Million annually. However, Messi also utilizes this money for charitable purposes. The Footballer joined UNICEF to bring a change in the lives of children in 2010.

And Messi has been a committed supporter of the cause ever since. His generosity can be measured when in 2017,? he provided financial help to Syrian children for their education. And the outcome of this rich effort was 1600 Syrian children sitting in the new classrooms.
