With a stellar career spanning a decade, Simone Biles returned to the same city where she first won the World Championships in 2013. Last time she won four medals, including two golds, at Antwerp, the world’s diamond capital. The 26-year-old is currently tied with Vitaly Scherbo for the most Worlds and Olympic titles won with 33. Even the best sportsmen won’t receive special consideration simply because they are famous. Biles is known for being outspoken about her beliefs as witnessed in her Q&A sessions. In this instance, Biles converted her GRWM clip on TikTok (get ready with me) into a blunt fact-dumping space. Moments before winning her 20th World medal, she said, “At work championships, it’s so hard to train on rough surfaces for two weeks.”

Simone had already issued a fair warning in the caption that read, “a whole bunch of word vomit because nerves.” She described how to begin by bringing pit cushions and other equipment because the landings are difficult on the body of the gymnast. “We should have softer landing and stuff at the back, gyms.. the training halls,” she added.

Biles also shared being nervous in the latter part of the video only for the event to unfold in a dramatic fold. Despite being in the lead with 125.831, barely 1.768 ahead of China, the third-rotation standing put pressure on the Americans. Who was injured in the team event at Worlds?

Joscelyn Roberson failed on her Cheng and was seen hunched down grasping her ankles in pain during her warm-up. Laurant Landi, the head coach took her to the medical area, where she was later observed leaving on crutches.

Later, Leanne Wong, who was originally set to compete on the balance beam, took Joscelyn’s place in the competition. Wong performed the vault and floor exercises stepping up the remaining team event.

However, Team USA emerged victorious with a score of 167.729 points. The 2022 World all-around champion from Brazil, Rebeca Andrade, led her team in a closely contested race. France finished third with 164.064 points, earning their first team medal at the World Championships since 1950. The next contestant is scheduled for Friday.
