Simone Biles?recently cemented her status as the most accomplished gymnast of all time. She returned to the mats after a two-year hiatus and broke the records held by Larisa Latynina and Vitaly Scherbo while leading the U.S. women’s team in Antwerp. Screams of excitement met Biles as she entered Sportspaleis, marking the beginning of her victorious evening. Stepping on the podium in five of six events, she said, “It still proves to myself and other people that I can do it.”?

Biles was back in the city of Belgium after a decade, as a seasoned veteran she also focused on having fun. With the numerous attractions that enthralled visitors, Biles recently shared one of her own delights.

The 26-year-old debuted the Yurchenko double pike on Worlds opening day following three golds at the 2023 US Gymnastics Championships. Going by the rotation standings, Simone was the only promising podium top finisher despite the narrow margins. Biles won 5 medals including four golds that boosted her Worlds alloy collection to 27! However, just recently she revealed how she wasn’t missing any of this. Biles shared a fun update on her Twitter that read, “still dreaming about the waffles from belgium.”

Biles is accustomed to high expectations as the best gymnast in the United States. With the rigorous training regimens for elite athletes, they must follow stringent diet programs. She obediently follows her coach’s recommendations and controls her urges in order to maintain her active lifestyle. Although, waffles and Belgian chocolate are two of Simone’s favorite sweet pleasures. Allowed to enjoy things or even when not, sometimes she breaks this rule and gives in to her whims.

However, in response to a question on her best non-gymnastics memory from Belgium, Biles went back to her early years and the food restrictions. She said, ?Back then, it was a little bit more strict. So we weren?t allowed to eat that stuff.? At 16, she showed immense self-control being a fresh face on the global mats although taking four medals. She’s back and stronger than ever, defying all limitations and sometimes even taking cheat breaks! When asked what was something she truly keeps close to her heart, her answer delighted even the Antwerp host.

Ahead of her sixth appearance at Worlds venue in Antwerp, Belgium, Biles engaged in a chat with @Antwerp2023. Biles thought back on her favorite non-gymnastic parts of Antwerp. She really treasures a pair of earrings that her mother, Nellie Biles gave her after her success in the competition back in 2013. The earrings, set with expensive diamonds, were purchased in Antwerp, which is known as the world’s center for the diamond trade.

This heartwarming discovery highlights her emotional connection to the city outside of the sports world and gives her relationship with it a more intimate feel. The emcee concurs, calling it a fascinating and entertaining story that highlights the city’s reputation for fine gems.
