The 2023 World Gymnastics Championship has made its presence for the year sending athletes and enthusiasts abuzz. As the event steps in for the second day, it’s time for the leading champions to make an appearance. Taking the ground on the 1st, Women’s gymnastics teams across 24 countries will step up their game; competing for Paris 2024 and the title alike.
While the teams rush in, it is everybody’s eyes on the reigning champions. The US Women’s Team has earned six consecutive gold through its previous contests at the Worlds. Now with the gymnastics legend, Simone Biles leading the team, the audience can’t hold in its excitement; and neither can the celebrated gymnast. A few hours ahead of the qualifier round, Simone Biles took to Instagram to share a little message alongside her team.
Simone Biles hypes the crowd and sends America love with a little message

It is the second day of the World Gymnastics Championship and it’s time for the US women’s team to set foot on the ground. And a few hours before the team sets to dominate the field, Biles shared a cheerful picture on her Instagram story. The image shared by Simone showcases the gymnast posing for a selfie alongside teammate, Joscelyn Roberson in gracing pink leotards; each with a radiant smile on their faces. Captioning the story, Simone wrote, “Qualifications lets go.” enthusiastic for the competition ahead.
Simone will be competing alongside Joscelyn, a 17-year-old who scored 54.900 placing 4th amongst 10; competing at the 2023 U.S. Women’s World Team Selection Event. The two will be joined by Skye Blakely, Shilese Jones, and Leanne Wong taking the ground in Subdivision 2 of the women’s qualifier round; stronger now for a fierce competition.
Team USA returns strong to Antwerp

It was in 2013 that Simone Biles first set foot in Antwerp for the World Gymnastics Championship. The team back then included Kyla Ross, an Olympic gold medalist, and McKayla Maroney who was a part of the 2012 fierce five Olympic team amongst others. A decade ago, Simone won a total of 4 medals, two of which included 2 golds; in all-around and floor excursive each. And together, the team won, 8 medals with 3 gold, topping the table at a high.
The team now returning led by Simone, is no less of talent; filled with the heights of the youngsters’ energy. Shilese Jones, Skye Blakely, and Leanne Wong all hail from the 2022 Worlds gold-winning team. The gymnasts, besides also hold individual titles flaunting silver and bronze across their careers. While Shilese is a 2022 World all-around silver medalist, Wong is a 2021 World all-around silver medalist. The packed team of young promising talents proceeds head first into the most predominant event in the field.

The USA women’s gymnastics team has already made it to the Paris 2024, alongside Great Britain and Canada. Having accomplished the primary goal, the team will focus on winning the gold at the event; which will make it their 7th consecutive win.
