Gymnastics went through several era-defining techniques that revolutionized the sport. Simone Biles took control once again, putting her best foot forward in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship. A decade back, the gymnast stepped on the world stage for the first time, exiting with a named floor move (Biles I). Today was Day 2 of the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, with 32 women competing over four apparatus. On the first day of the women’s gymnastics competition, Panamanian gymnast Hillary Heron executed Simone’s floor signature move. Just as the final standings were released, Gymnastics Now reported “she(Heron) can?t qualify to Paris as an all-arounder” on Twitter(X).

The post further explained, “She qualified as a specialist to Antwerp on all four events, but we confirmed with an official (after seeing @thegymterdotnet?s tweet) that she CAN.” The 19-year-old entered as an apparatus specialist and currently sits 14th with a 50.599. Although she could potentially move up to be one of the 14 eligible all-around at the end of qualifying. Additionally, @thegymterdotnet claims NOC can only gain one Olympic spot with criteria for all-around. The individual all-around qualifiers will be announced on Friday.

The 2023 South American Championships vault gold medallist was a supernova on the floor, completing the move technically known as Double salto bwd extended with 1/2 turn (180 degrees). After Simone, she was the first gymnast to accomplish Biles I, also known as the double layout with half twist. Simone Biles double win at World Gymnastics Championships
At the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, none of the gymnasts’ floor exercise routines received a D-score of 6.0. However, Simone Biles’ astounding performance received a D-score of 6.700, owing to the difficulty level of J for the backward triple-twisting double tucked salto(a 3/1 twist (1080?). She went ahead to win a Balance Beam named move for a double salto bwd tucked with 2/1 twist (720?) both in European soil in 2019.
Biles’ previous Worlds appearance saw her leave a mark on foreign land with two named moves. Biles won an incredible 19 World titles over five appearances and is now in attendance to make history once again.
