In a recent announcement, Carey disclosed her intention to remain at Oregon State University while pursuing her Olympic dreams. Carey is also dedicated to representing the United States and the Oregon State Beavers, balancing her collegiate commitments with her elite-level Olympic training.

Joining Carey in this unprecedented endeavor are fellow Tokyo Olympians Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee, and Grace McCallum. Chiles and Lee focus on Olympic aspirations, while Carey embraces NCAA gymnastics while preparing for Paris 2024. Despite this being difficult, Carey is excited about it as she said, “I am excited to share that I will be remaining at Oregon State while pursuing my dreams of the 2024 Olympics.” Reflecting on her 2023 NCAA season, which culminated in her being the highest-ranked all-around athlete, Carey’s transition to elite gymnastics was more than remarkable.
