Long Island University isn’t having the best time right now when it comes to NCAA gymnastics. With their gymnasts and athletes complaining about the dire conditions of training facilities on the campus for months. While the Sharks received their first gymnasium only a couple of months ago, it looks like things aren’t looking any brighter even now. Another new blow is sure to floor the LIU’s NCAA dreams as three more gymnasts have entered the transfer portal.

For any NCAA athletics program, having its own gymnasium is of paramount importance considering how competitive things can become during the season. Keeping that in mind, the LIU authorities unveiled their elaborate plans to give their stars the opportunity to hone their skills inside the campus and promised bigger things to come in the future. However, fans believe the assurances were nothing but hollow words.

Freshman Kate Parks and sophomore Logan Hinson will join senior Juliette Rider to find themselves a new home for the remaining of their NCAA tenure. The unprecedented news possibly comes from a position of being unable to pursue their dreams at LIU, which still doesn’t boast a training facility that can offer the gymnasts the chance to go head to head with their opponents in the collegiate circuit. Justifiably, the news hasn’t been received well by LIU fans.

Fans note their frustration

Understandably, NCAA gymnastics fans aren’t taking the latest development lightly, especially with troubles between LIU and its training facility becoming a headache for quite some time now. “LIU genuinely is Leave Immediately University“, commented redditor gym_fun.

For bear7633, the disappointment is even more acute since they had high hopes for a new power rising in the northeastern region of the country. “this makes me so sad because I was so excited/hopeful for a new program, especially in the northeast!“, wrote the fan while also mentioning that the athletes should do what suits their ambitions best.

Redditoe Global-Act-5281, LIU looks to be flimsy and undeserving of their NCAA status. “I can’t believe LIU is a D1 school“, said the evidently fuming fan.

SlyElephantitis thinks there might be more to the matter than what meets the eye. “People don’t leave bad teams/universities, they leave bad coaches“, the fan hinted at more crucial things that LIU should take note of if they hope to keep being seen as a powerful foe to their peers.

Another fan also continues to be flummoxed as to why anyone wants to even be a part of the Sharks when things look so discouraging. “It honestly makes me wonder why ANYONE is committing to LIU, when they see how many transfers there are every year.“, sounded flamboyancetree’s aching heart.
