Cheers poured in from the crammed Hoffman Estates and SAP Center this month as Simone Biles did the unthinkable. The gymnast seamlessly landed the hardest Yurchenko double pike after adding four distinctive skills to her repertoire. Owing to her habit of pulling off the unbelievable on the mats, she became the only female to land the YPD in competitions. After she pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics negative comments aired nearly destroying her spirit to compete. While critics ridiculed Biles when she was at her lowest, she continued to communicate with her strongest supporters.

With the support of America’s elite coaches, the Olympian returned to the gymnastics floor and quickly ascended to the top. Soon after, taking a moment to thank her loudest cheerleaders she made some candid confessions.

At the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, California, Simone Biles created history as the oldest woman to ever win the all-around title. It was interesting to see how tight the margins were throughout the course of the two days. With Day 1’s margin being 2.55 and Day 2’s being 1.35 with Shilese Jones. Biles, however, significantly outperformed her, earning a combined score of 118.450 to her 114.550, a difference of 3.9 points.

In the “Post-Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships Press Conference” posted by USA Gymnastics on YouTube, she candidly said, “this age is kicked my ass today.” Notably, an extra push from her coaches kept her focused on achieving the best results since she didn’t really resume her training until early summer. The 26-year-old gymnast never stops crediting her coaches Laurent Landi and Cecile Landi and this time was no different.

That night, she won in the all-around, balancing beam, and floor routines. Her faith in her trainers was obvious as she spoke about trusting them completely just by turning up at the gym. In her elite career spanning over a decade, she pointed out how they assisted her each time she had to take a break. Adding to that she said, “so I have a lot of faith in them.”

The fact that she reclaimed control of the national gymnastics team in the final qualifier came as no surprise to her teammates. Earlier, the squad strengthened the medal tally at the Games after her withdrawal. And after she returned, they cheered throughout which made it obvious for Biles to openly praise her fellow gymnasts. In addition to her coaches, Biles also explained how the process went seamlessly, saying “with the help of my teammates just pushing me in the gym and telling me like it’s okay you can do it.” On the pressure-mounted finals, Biles won massive and there stood her coaches expressing their delight at the amount of effort she had put into her preparations.

He said, “Well, she makes it in training good, so she’s one of the rare gymnasts that’s good to meet and does it even better under pressure,” when asked how she was doing in training and how it had changed from when she was in the gym. Landi anticipated Simone, who began training with the duo coaches in 2017, would explode again, and Biles very well delivered on his predictions.
