Living her triumphant dream, Simone Biles made a serious comeback to the gymnastics scene. Pulling out of the Tokyo Olympics only to return stronger, no one understands the mounted pressure better than her. Biles was only a prodigy back when she took home four medals in Belgium in 2013. After years she returned to the mats as the wealthiest medals owner; making her second venue and sixth Worlds appearance at the WAC 2023. Oldest in the American team, Simone’s wisdom also helped her team shine throughout as she advised fellow gymnasts to believe in themselves. Yet, there was a member anxiously looking out for the icon.

Leading the group of prodigies this time, contrary to Biles’s last visit to the Worlds venue, the reigning all-around champion dazzled the crowd once again. Amidst a historic landing, the pressure peaked, especially from a close source to Biles.

Another Antwerp, Belgium visit, another historic move named. Biles has moved to another level of competence surpassing top-tier records now. Artistic gymnastics is all about points. Given the global event, a fan took to Twitter to shed light on Biles’ head coach, Laurent Landi’s concerns as the first subdivision unfolded. The post stated what Landi said in an interview, “Oh, well, you know, I’m stressed before and then, during it’s just… there’s nothing else you can do. Same as if you’re in the gym, you know, just do another one.'”?

Biles flaunted her ace card on the vault taking an easy 15.266! Making history on day 2 of the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, the first woman to land the Yurchenko double pike vault at an international competition. Although with her coach Laurent standing on the podium for safety, an automatic 0.5 was deducted from the routine, which is still 0.1 more than Simone’s win over Shilese Jones in the last all-around event. In another historic moment, after having named a vault move earlier, Biles just added a fifth move- “Biles II” to her named list!

Biles, an American powerhouse, is once again at the top with 58.865 AA, with USA leading at the end of rotation 3 with 171.395 points. Back in 2021, her coach was “a little apprehensive” about Biles during her hiatus. Fast forward to now, in an exclusive interview with Olympics.com, her coach said, “physically, she (Biles) looks great. And I think most of it, she feels great.”

The 26-year-old gymnast also showed gratitude to her trainers Laurent and Cecile Landi for providing additional motivation. Taking one step at a time under their guidance, Biles rose above her setbacks and even shared her future gymnastics plans.

Simone Biles hints at her 2024 Paris Olympics plan

As the summer progressed and championships revealed the roster, Biles became the center of attention. The gymnast finally answered the most requested question about her third attendance at the Olympic Games next year. The seven-time Olympic medalist evaluated her mastery this season and said, ?I would love to go,??when asked about plans for Paris.

Her performance on Day 2 of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships backs up her remarks.
