Alongside the great Simone Biles, a heap of other talented gymnasts is prepping for the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Besides legends like Skye Blakely and Shilese Jones, Joscelyn Roberson is all set to make her World Championships debut. At the U.S. Women?s Artistic World Championships Selection camp, Joscelyn Roberson finished fourth with 54.900 to secure her spot in the National team. Absolutely baffled at her unanticipated victory, Roberson couldn’t stop celebrating. Her mother Ashley gets all the credit. Due to her career commitments, Ashley moved to Spring, Texas, only to admit Roberson at the World Champions Centre. That was the turning point of her artistic gymnastics career.
FIG took to their ‘X’ to write, “It’s that first World Championships feeling for Joscelyn Roberson.” The video features Roberson in all her glory, talking about the immense support she had received from her fellow mates. Even though she is a debutante, her eyes assert confidence and an unwavering determination. She said, “I have been dreaming about this since I was a little three years old. And I keep telling Simone it feels like I’m not here. It doesn’t feel real yet. Now that I’ve seen the podium, the competition and everything, I feel like it’s really sinking in.”??

Furthermore, she said, “I don’t need to be nervous cause they’ve all done it before, “while authenticating her nurturing relationship with the others at the gym. To her, she’s not like any other rookie. Sharing a great camaraderie with Simone, there’s something else they both share.
Simone and Joscelyn have a common factor
Shedding light on her mental struggles, Roberson shared the same stage with Simone. The latter had faced ‘twisties’ at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, making her sit out from the rest of the competition. Along similar lines, the 17-year-old had faced the same before making a debut at Cecile and Laurent ruled WCC. The teenager said, ?We?ve talked about the twisties a lot because I?ve gotten them countless times. She was just telling me how it was the weirdest feeling and how she didn?t feel she could control her body.” She has had the worst nightmares at the training arena, while the mental blocks ruined her practice. It was because of Landis and Biles that she emerged victorious.
