Simone Biles’ twisties horror story explained

Simply defined, “twisties” are a setback brought on when one’s mind-muscle link breaks down. Biles got pushed into the scary zone in July 2021 while vaulting. She planned a 2½-twisting vault for the Olympic team final, though, her mind just stopped unaware of its landing mid-way. Springing off the vault in just 1½ twists through the air she felt lost. Even the Games platform couldn’t make her stay put despite years of training and hours of perfecting the only sport she loved. A truly devastating situation that was smoothly handled by the US Gymnastics Team winning a silver medal in the event.
