The shining US gymnast cruised very smoothly throughout her journey to make it to the world championship. However, as she went off-kilter in her beam rotation, her chances of making it to the finals of beam balance went downhill.

A social media post broke the saddening news of her beam routine’s low score after Blakely went off-balance. The American top gun who aced the beam balance category during the selection camp in Katy, Texas, failed to repeat her stellar performance in the Diamond Capital of the world.

Skye Blakely stepped on the beam confidently and began to work her trustee mount series magic. However, Blakely encountered a slight wobble after a front handspring front tuck but managed to control further damage. Despite the initial save, the gymnastics ace suffered another big wobble and went off.?

Skye Blakely made a switch leap to switch half to a back tuck, but her finishing wasn?t quite good which resulted in the wobble. At the selection camp, though, Blakley shined brightly on the beam with 14.350 points, her score fell to 11.866 in Antwerp. While Blakely may have misfired in the beam balance category, she still has three more bullets to shoot. In fact, she has already resolved to leave Belgium with an individual medal.

Skye Blakely made her second consecutive World Championships entry in Antwerp, Belgium. The 18-year-old is currently in her second year as a senior and was rewarded for her unyielding consistency. US gymnasts who represented America last year were a little tense about her world championship spot.

The return of Queen Simone Biles after the end of her twisties spelled tension for the 2022 Liverpool gold medalists. Skye Blakely was especially under the radar since she was the least experienced on the team. Despite this, Skye Blakely stood strong and qualified for the world team, by overcoming the mighty Olympian, Jordan Chiles.?

Blakely stood third in overall scoring at the selection camp after Simone Biles and Shilese Jones, standing above Leanne Wong and Joscelyn Roberson. Prior to kicking off the competition, Blakely had a word with Olympics.com where she said,??My first thing is always, most importantly, have fun and do my best and to be happy with how I did.”?

She further added,?”But it’s definitely to go in, do well in qualifications, qualify for an event final, and to walk away with medals.” While Blakely may have blown her shot at the beam balance finals, she still stands a chance in other categories.?
