NCAA gymnast Jade Carey has achieved many milestones in her career. The 24-year-old gymnast has won two world championships and secured a medal at the Tokyo Olympics floor exercise. Nevertheless, the young gymnastics prodigy credits the major chunk of her successful career to her father, Brian Carey, who not just supported her dreams but also trained her to reach the pinnacle.

Interestingly, Brian Carey has now also officially joined his daughter’s college gymnastics team to train all the talented Oregon State University’s gymnast. Carey, a member of the International Elite Committee for USA Gymnastics has joined the beavers team as an assistant coach.

Olympic champion Jade Carey’s father and his coach has decided to join the Oregon State gymnastics team. On July 24, Oregon State University announced that the elite coach has been hired by the Beavers as the assistant coach. Tanya Chaplin, head coach of the team, in an interview with the Gymnastics Now, stated, “Brian is a world-class coach and will be an amazing mentor to our student-athletes.” Further emphasizing the guidance of Carey, Chaplin added, “His technical knowledge, alongside his work with both the international and elite development programs, will benefit our athletes immediately.”

Brian Carey expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity and conceded that he has been around the Oregon state gymnastics teams for some time now. The coach has been practicing with Jade Carey in Oregon for the 2024 Olympic games The 24-year-old, who will be participating in both college gymnastics and the Olympics next year, expressed his appreciation towards her father’s new role in an interview, “I’m fortunate enough to have him do that. He’s here a lot, helping with my elite stuff.”

Many top-tier collegiate gymnasts are taking a short break from their colleges to participate in the Paris Olympics. Jordan Chiles, who got her ticket to Paris, will be taking a hiatus from her college for some time for her training montage, and MyKayla Skinner has decided to join a club in Arizona after leaving her college in Utah. However, Jade Carey has decided to juggle both collegiate and elite gymnastics. In April, the gymnast told the Olympics news site that after handling both the Tokyo Olympics and the NCAA; she understood how to handle the pressure.
