The leading name in the global gymnastics front is Simone Biles. The Olympic gymnast has practically grown up in the limelight from first walking the talks on the mats. Over a decade, she performed with passion delighting crowds and skeptics even though her personal life was full of hardships. The Ohio-born was raised by her Texas grandparents after being given up for adoption. Despite hailing from an unconventional setting, she persevered to nurture her skills, which has fortunately turned into a successful profession.
Biles addresses her adoptive parents as “mom” and “dad” and shares a beautiful bond with them. The Biles family stood by her through it all and were proud of their daughter when she made her triumphant comeback. With the World Gymnastics Championships going underway, Biles leans on her safe space sharing a sweet nostalgia.

Simone answered, “After Worlds, my mom gave me these earrings and I have been wearing them for ten years,” apart from eating she added. It was Biles’s first expensive present, and the pricey diamond earrings nearly scared her away from wearing them all the time. Interestingly, the jewelry was bought in the diamond capital of the world, Antwerp!
Even the host calls it a crazy and fun story while the post caption read, “Antwerp, the city of diamonds So lovely to hear what @simonebiles likes about Antwerp, and it’s not only the waffles”
Notably, the first time she entered as a senior gymnast in the global event she took home four medals (the least of all Worlds appearances). Now, Biles competes in a different stratosphere moving out of women’s records and surpassing the last of male gymnasts’ records. As she advances to new horizons did you know her early struggles at home?

Simone Biles’ story as an adopted child
Unlike typical households, Biles received support from her grandparents. Her biological mother, Shanon Biles gave her and her three kids up for adoption in 2000 due to her drug and alcohol addiction. Then, Biles was only three and would wait for her grandfather in foster homes since he paid her frequent visits until legal adoption. After three years her grandfather Ronald Biles and his wife Nellie adopted her and her younger sister Adria and brought them to live with them in Texas.
