Leanne Wong is a rising name in? Gymnastics. After Team USA’s majestic performance at the 2023 World Championships, stands with 2 team golds and an individual silver in the all-around. However, as the youngster brilliantly treads forward in her gymnastics career, she hasn’t forgone an opportunity to stand tall outside her field.
Along with her gymnastics journey, Leanne found an opportunity to start a small business called ?Leanne Wong?s Bowtique.? The notion was born out of her love for color matching her outfit. Her business has grown and expanded exceptionally in the course of nearly 2 years. She also showed her support for?breast cancer through her business project earlier this month. And now, in an exclusive interview with Essentially Sports, the youngster revealed the management aspects behind her growing brand.
Leanne Wong credits the NIL rule change

In an exclusive interview with Essentially Sports, Leanne Wong was asked about her business handling. The question read, “Diving more into the business side since you run your own business, how do you handle the financial aspects of your career? Who helps you navigate your financial prospects and make decisions about growth and investment?” To which Leanne answered, “I am incredibly thankful for the rule changes and Name, Image, and Likeliness (NIL). Without NIL, I wouldn?t be able to have my business and be competing in both college and elite gymnastics. There are financial parts of my life, but my parents help me manage the money with investments and growth. I recently started investing in a 401K because of my bow business.”
Leanne started her business back in December 2021, selling her handmade bow collection. Today, the business has expanded to include signature leotards and apparel. The youngster capitalized her NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) rights after a ruling allowed compensation for college athletes. The gymnast used her rights to market and sell thousands of her merchandise. However, as Leanne continued to grow with her business, she made sure not to lose focus on her gymnastics career.

Leanne entered the U.S. elite gymnastics scene back in 2017. However, the pinnacle of her career arrived in 2019 where she contributed to her Pan American team to win a gold. The streak continued as she worked to make it to the 2020 Olympics as an alternative and further headed into 2 World Championships. On the national level, Leanne did not just ace the Core Hydration Classic with a silver but also the US Championships; earning a bronze.
Interestingly, Leanne’s presence on the international stage did not lead her away from her university. The gymnast continues to represent the University of Florida has remained to train with the coaches there. With that, Leanne has held NIL deals with multiple brands; including GK Elite Sportswear. She is also sponsored by Quest Nutrition.

The youngster has excelled in not one but two of the fields she has set foot in. As she continues to train to perform on the mat, Leanne also impressively self-markets her merchandise; being no short of an inspiration.
