Just after the Fourth of July holiday, American gymnastics icon Simone Biles shared a long-awaited announcement. As a teen, she secured all-around titles and continued to add golds, silvers, and bronze to her collection. Since her debut year, she showed promise and potential in the sport, making her the most decorated U.S. gymnast ever. However, in the wake of mental health challenges, the gymnast took a hiatus since her last performance in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
The GOAT revamped her entire life, stepping into a new milestone in her personal life during this time. She also continued engaging with her fans, updating them on her practices on social media, which sure gave her fans hope for her return to the competition floor. However, even after the USA Gymnastics update, Biles refrained from commenting on her career plans until now!

Seven Times Olympic Medalist took to her Twitter to announce her return, confirming her participation in the 2023 U.S. Classic. The final qualifying event for the U.S. Championships will be held at Now Arena in the Chicago suburbs on 5 August. Prior to confirming her return, Biles shared a lighthearted Instagram story that quite served as a hint and later that evening she wrote a message saying:
sorry I’ve been a little MIA since the announcement 🤍 I’m overwhelmed with all of your messages, support & love! excited to get back out on the competition floor! XOXO 🫶🏾

The drug tests, coaches’ subliminal references to her involvement, teammates’ training sessions together, and reports that her husband Jonathan Owens was helping her through her mental health rehabilitation were just a few of the obscene clues she left over the course of several months in her fitness regimen. Though her absence was deeply felt by her fellow gymnasts who continued to perform in the World Championships, Biles never really stopped supporting her girls.
One cannot possibly forget her performance in the 2016 Rio Olympics despite her withdrawal from the 2021 Olympic finals. With four gold medals and one bronze, she is still tied to the most medals ever won by a female gymnast. And are we gonna talk about the 30 Olympic and world championship medals? With all being said, upon her return, she continues to show gratitude, which garnered many warm reactions from the internet.
