The US Gymnast who is supposed to blame her fortune for the past year’s setbacks, thanks the universe instead. Keeping away from the super competitive year may have been tough for her, but Suni Lee mindfully prepared for the Olympics in the meantime. Getting diagnosed with a non-gymnastics-related kidney disease didn’t stop her from rallying. As her compatriots made big strides, she stood as their strongest supporter.

Mya Hooten, one of the most sought after gymnasts of the Minnesota Women’s Gymnastics has set the gymnastic mat ablaze, as per recent news. Registered with her college in the 2023/24 roster, the senior-year gymnast has been on top of her A-game. At the Mean Girls Super 16 (Jan. 6), she scored 9.875 on floor, bars and vault. Moving on, locking horns with Eastern Michigan, Hooten locked a perfect 10 on the floor in a Minnesota meet.
As of January 14, Big Ten declared her as the Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week. But another career-best vault performance has the Minnesota native Lee extending supportive notes. Big Ten’s Insta post reads, “STRAIGHT FROM THE TEXTBOOK!” featuring Hooten’s mindboggling discipline. Sharing it as her Insta story, the Olympian wrote, “my girllll” teamed with heart-eye emojis.
Since the 2020 Tokyo Olympics all-around gold medalist hails from Minnesota herself, her heart always cries for her fellow natives. But this wasn’t the only instance of Lee supporting her home tribe. In a recent NFL game, she made a surprise visit.
