Auburn Tigers had a remarkable display of performances at Neville Arena with a sweeping victory at the quad meet. Scoring a season-high at 197.425, the team has etched itself as a strong contender, defeating the team’s Temple, Talladega, and Fisk in the recent encounter. One of the most striking performances comes from the debutant, Olivia Greaves, with a striking full routine that is hard to miss.

The road to make her college debut did not come easy for Greaves. And, it was none other than Olympian gymnast Sunisa Lee who prompted her to contact Auburn. As Greaves dominated the bars recently, Lee took to celebrate her performance with zeal.

The Auburn quad meet was nothing short of historic. Three-time Olympic medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Sunisa Lee took to highlight the dazzling presentation by Olivia Greaves in her Instagram story. Sharing the original post by @auburngymnastics that bears the caption, “Moments like this #WarEagle,” it features Greaves doing a clean flip. Lee captioned her story, “so proud of you (crying emoji),” as she is completely mesmerized by Greaves’ skills.

The former five-star recruit and a red-shirt freshman, Olivia Greaves’ bar performance was one of the main highlights of Auburn Tigers. She ended up scoring a 9.875 during the quad meet. Jeff Graba, who serves as the head coach of Auburn Tigers mentioned, “I’m really happy with the team,” showing his satisfaction. The Tigers had a total of 49.300 on the bars.

Greaves recently recovered from her ACL injury that happened last season. Adding his insights on Greaves’s performance, Graba further commented, “Anytime you have a story like that, and for it to go well, you can’t quantify that. I think it carried the rest of the night.”

That’s what a comeback looks like!

In the preseason, suffering from a foot injury caused Greaves to miss her freshman season. And, being back on the mat again, her teammates including Sunisa Lee were not able to contain their happiness. Greaves had earlier represented the US team in 2021 at the Swiss Cup but exited early due to injury.

Because of an elbow fracture further missed the Olympic Trials, which prompted Florida to withdraw its scholarship offer. It was during this instance that Sunisa Lee showed her the path to Auburn. The rest is history. The Auburn Tigers are now all set to face Alabama on February 9. The match can be streamed on the SEC network.
