Jordan Chiles has been rising to the pinnacle with her every step. The 22-year-old stood in the spotlight as she was decorated with a team silver at the Olympics and a team gold at the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships. Returning successful both times, Jordan now has her eyes set on Paris 2024; with strong support despite her second thoughts on the matter.
Earlier this year, Jordan was faced with thoughts that pushed her towards a break. But returning from a vacation, Jordan knew she wanted to be at the 2024 Olympics. With her continued persistence, and the right help from the coach Laurent Landi after her break, Jordan with a 53.650 made her way to the Pan American Games. Grateful for her supporter, Coach Laurent through this challenging journey, Jordan showcased her appreciation through a recent Instagram update.
Jordan Chiles extends her wishes to her gymnastics backer

Laurent Landi has been one of the best gymnastics coaches in the world. Laurent along with his wife, Cecile, joined Simone’s home ground, World Championship Centre back in 2017. Upon their first meeting, not just Simone but her mother also knew the couple was the right fit for the growing champion. From there on, Laurent and Cecile went on to coach and mentor 11 U.S. Women?s Senior National Team members. This included teams and individuals from the Olympics and the Worlds; ?Simone Biles, Madison Kocian, Alyssa Baumann, and Jordan Chiles.
On the 18th of October, as the coach celebrated his 46th birthday, one of his mentees was quick to send her wishes. Jordan Chiles, Olympic team silver medalist, shared a warming image of the two on her Instagram Story. The post framed Jordan and Laurent fist-bumping as they prepared for the Gymnastics World Championships. Captioning the post, Chiles excitedly wrote, “Happy birthday Laurent!!!”
The coaches who were French gymnasts themselves have found the right hook to mentor the athletes. They have shaped gymnasts and led the way right; earning the respect and admiration of those in training and those watching in from the outside.

Laurent and Cecile come a full circle
While Laurent was a French team national gymnast, Cecile was an Atlanta 1996 Olympian. The two, after retiring headed to the United States in 2004; for the latter it was to prove the doubters wrong. They began their journey at the Texas-based WOGA Gymnastics in 2007; coaching not just the notable names of Kocian and Baumann but numerous other NCAA champions. The duo, however, came to limelight when Simone picked her head coaches.
The duo’s technical expertise and athlete-centric approach combined with their field knowledge has led them to have a strong hold over an artist’s direction. While Laurent helped Chiles return to Classics after a break, he cheered on for Simone as she succeeded in bagging the Biles II.?

Further to establish their presence and prove doubters wrong, Laurent won the 2023 USA Gymnastics Coach of the Year while the duo earned their place in the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. The coaches continue their resilience as they reach Chile to be by the gymnasts for the Pam American Games to be held from the 20th of October to the 5th of November.
