The tapestry of regional accents spoken in the United States adds to the nation’s uniqueness making it more interesting. Over the years some lighthearted ribbing has highlighted the subject of pronunciation more often in cross-state banter or teasing. While many have taken the liberty to address the topic personally, a savage take recently came from internet sensation Olivia Dunne.

Currently, in her final year at LSU, the Tiger’s gymnastics standout lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Also popular amongst her 14M social media followers as ‘Livvy’, the highest-paid collegiate athlete subtly grilled many.

Livvy is famously known for creating engaging online content, consisting of LSU training or her take on some fun trend. However, adding spice from time to time is an assignment she takes seriously. This time, Dunne shared a TikTok video, the opening scene shows her casually looking here and there while checking out her nails captioned, People from NJ just existing.

Immediately interrupted by the following take where she peeps doubtfully through the narrow-opened door of the room captioned,Other states: say coffee.” Wearing a sleeveless black bodycon jumpsuit from Vuori paired with a cardinal beanie the nine-second calling-out clip was proof of her absolute wit. She also added a post caption stating her birth state New Jersey’s accent, Its cawfee.

Defending herself has been a practice she adheres to only when necessary, especially after her newfound fame. After all, her pursuits of gymnastics began at 3 followed by her homeschooling to train on the mats. Her mettle keeps getting challenged which was seen this year despite staying away from LSU season due to injury.

The personal offense

Last year, The New York Times got a much-necessary clapback from Dunne. It all happened after they published an article ‘?New Endorsements for College Athletes Resurface an Old Concern: Sex Sells’. The read highlighted certain ways the gymnast engages with her followers which reportedly made her the most followed collegiate athlete on social media.
