The 2024 American Athletic Inc. has unveiled the latest name to join the long list of gymnasts to receive the coveted AAI Award. The LSU Tigers have been nothing short of spectacular this season with their fantastic 25-3 overall record. As Olivia Dunne & Co. waits to kick off their NCAA finals this Thursday, Haleigh Bryant, one of the dominant forces behind LSU’s performances, has been revealed to join the likes of Ashleigh Gnat and Sarah Finnegan. And Livvy can’t hold back on the excitement.
In her latest Instagram story, Livvy shared the original post of the official LSU Gymnastics account to share the feat achieved by her teammate in an emphatic style. Noting that the AAI Award is like the Heisman (the annual award given to each season’s most outstanding college football player), Livvy wrote “kid just won the Heisman of gymnastics” in her IG story.

“never had a doubt“, confessed Dunne as she tagged Bryant in the post. Livvy takes a cue from the jubilant original post that remarked “The trophy was meant for 𝐡𝐞𝐫“. Haleigh Bryant has dished out some incredible moments throughout the entire NCAA season, achieving the prestigious but elusive “gym slam” to raking up Perfect 1o scores at every possible opportunity. The award comes as a recognition of her thrilling season. Let us take a look at that.
Bryant continues to pull the Tigers to new heights
Haleigh Bryant entered the NCAA Championships with 31 titles this year. This includes nine on the vault, seven on bars, two on the beam, four on the floor, and nine on the all-around. She bagged the season slam (a perfect 10 on every event in a single season) this year with her eight perfect scores and 18 in her career, the most by any gymnast in LSU history and the 10th most in the NCAA. Her dazzling season was probably best summarized by coach Jay Clark on a previous occasion.
“She’s that consistent. That’s just who she is…She’s been tremendous, she’s been an all-timer… I’m gonna try and convince her to do one more year,” Clark has said. It remains to be seen if Bryant continues to spearhead the LSU ladies as they face the Arkansas Razorbacks for the NCAA semifinals at Fort Worth, Texas on April 18.
