The NCAA gymnastics season has marked its beginning and the launch couldn’t have been a better one for the LSU Tigers. In hopes of finding an unprecedented victory, the team has been on a good run. Olivia Dunne, the LSU fame, entering her senior year and trying to fetch her goal, has ensured to align with the aim and the excitement.
Later last year, Olivia Dunne revealed her major aim for her final meet season through People. “Winning the National Championship,” she said. In the process of achieving that, the gymnast has showcased staunch practice, marveling results, and of course the joy through it all.

The 2024 NCAA gymnastics season just made its appearance and the weekend was reserved for the LSU and Ohio fans. As enthusiasts gathered and shared love and excitement for the launch, they weren’t the only ones. In her recent Instagram update, Livvy took to her stories to share her subtle elation after the event. Posting a mirror selfie with soft glam and an LSU jersey, Olivia wrote, “I (heart) meet szn.”
Olivia Dunne, who returned to the mats after succumbing to an injury last season has shown constant excitement for the meet. “Be there or be squared,” she wrote last week, sharing an invitation for the fans. Prior to the invitation, the SI Swimsuit model also ensured to provide a preview for the season ahead. “Live footage of me being surprised i struck the dismount,” Livvy wrote in one of her Snapchat stories as she excelled through the bars with 2 flips and a perfect landing. However, following the meet on Friday, seems like an excelling Uneven Bars performance wasn’t all that Livvy had in store for the spectators.

The LSU Tigers find the right momentum
On the 5th of January, 12,000 LSU Tigers fans gathered to watch a spectacle at PMAC and the gymnasts did not disappoint. The Tigers defeated Ohio State on the opening night as they put up a score of 196.975 – 196.775. “All in all, I’m happy with the start. It was solid. We went against a very good team tonight who had nothing to lose walking in here and we had to fight our way out of a jam and I’m proud of the way we fought. That has become a hallmark of our team,” said head coach Jay Clark.

As junior KJ Johnson led with a 9.825 on Vault, Olivia Dunne ensured to follow along on the floor. While Ballard set the tone with 9.90, Olivia Dunne, back for the first time since 2022, put up 9.875 for a second spot. Livvy, who majors in Bars and Floor, will look for a continued momentum alongside Tigers on the 13th of January.
