While Olivia Dunne and the rest of the country continue to be livid at the LSU Tigers’ history-making NCAA Championship victory, coach Jay Clark is already looking to pick up his next ambitious project. And where better to embark on the next great voyage than at his alma mater?

A graduate of the University of Georgia and the successor to the legendary Suzanne Yoculan, Clark’s tryst with the Georgia Gym Dogs isn’t something new. And that’s exactly what can get him back to his old stomping ground, should the Tigers coach choose to move over from his current place after having lent his expertise to Haleigh Bryant & Co. to national glory. A recent social media post thinks the possibilities aren’t negligible.

A post on X by Gym Castic suggests Clark may be headed over to his old camp. “RUMOR: JAY TO GEORGIA“, claims the post and draws attention to the fact that Clark has been with Georgia for almost two decades. The post also goes on to mention that there are currently only two other coaches in the league who have NCAA pedigree, making it a lucrative chance for Clark to continue with his momentum at Georgia if that’s indeed the case.

The post hinted that there is a possibility that Clark might be returning to the NCAA Championship next year with an eye to topple Olivia Dunne and others from their high pedestal. With Jay’s competition running thin, it might not be a far-fetched thought to consider his chances of heading home to extend his legacy further. However, that isn’t to say that Clark will be the sole option for the Gym Dogs to reclaim their iconic status from the times of Yoculan.

Despite setbacks along the way to the SEC and NCAA titles, Jay Clark has stood firm behind his athletes at every step. In February this year, Clark stated that ensuring the mental well-being of the gymnasts was far more important than winning any award. And it looks like his concern over Livvy Dunne and Haleigh Bryant has paid off in a stellar manner. Probably that’s what makes him all the more pivotal for the Georgia gymnastics squad to return to the top of the food chain in the collegiate circuit. However, there are others who can undertake the hefty challenge, considering their impressive resume.

Justin Howell and Elisabeth Crandall-Howell helped the Golden Bears reach the NCAA finals for the first time in program history, and they are also on the radar to take over from Courtney Carter. LSU’s assistant coaches Courtney McCool and Garrett Griffeth are also Georgia alums (as the Gym Castic post also mentions) and might have the expertise needed to throttle the Gym Dogs back to their winning ways, especially with all their accumulated experience from working with Clark. Jordyn Wieber, the Olympic gold medalist, helped the Razorbacks reach the Elite Eight at this year’s NCAA Championship and is also being considered to take up the newly vacant position at Georgia.
