Olivia Dunne and LSU Gymnastics Team’s New Leotards Aren’t Just Fancy, Here’s the Hidden Sentiment

Olivia Dunne & Co. had an incredible run this season with a 19-3 overall record. Since this is Livvy’s final year with the Tigers, she and her teammates will go all-in with hopes of making her last NCAA regional championships run worthy of remembrance. With that in mind, it looks like the LSU women’s gymnastics team will head to the regional finals this weekend with special gear to remind them what they represent on the national stage.

It looks like a new version of LSU’s iconic purple and golden attire is set to drape the gymnasts as they head to the national championships after a significant run at the SEC Conference.

Olivia Dunne & Co. gets a new addition to the arsenal

In a recent Instagram post by LSU Women’s Gymnastics assistant coach Ashleigh Gnat, the new drip has been shared for the fans to witness. Taking a cue from the Tigers’ last SEC victory from five years ago, Gnat and her colleagues have designed a new leotard that will portray the rich heritage of LSU gymnastics with style. “My favorite thing about this leo is the sentiment behind it“, reads the ecstatic caption of the post by Gnat.

One of the accompanying images shows Olivia Dunne’s teammate Aleah Finnegan donning a pair of golden pants, capturing the glimmery essence of the Tigers. Gnat also shared a snippet of her conversation with one designer. “Okay hear me out…. the last time we competed an SEC championship in New Orleans was 5 years ago. It was also the last time we won an SEC championship. 5 in Roman numerals is V“, Ashleigh can be seen suggesting ideas about the look of the new leotard.

Gnat went on to suggest that the new attire should have a subtle “V” all around to commemorate the Tigers’ last SEC win. With the NCAA Championships almost upon us, the new gear will have to touch the ground running.

A difficult test ahead for the new attire

The brackets for the upcoming tournament have been announced by the NCAA already. According to the published document, it might be either BYU or Boise State who will probably meet the Tigers head-on in the first round of the regional finals. Considering both squads have had a solid last season, Olivia Dunne and her buddies will have their work cut for them.
