The Tokyo Olympics were an absolute blessing for Suni Lee, as the world witnessed a new superstar being born. The American gymnast is one of the best in the world in her discipline. Her smooth transitions and flexibility are a treat to watch for the fans.

After her success in gymnastics, Suni was seen in the TV Show ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Suni Lee and Auburn at the NCAA Championship 2022

Team Auburn, led by Suni Lee, competed at the NCAA Championship. They were able to make it all the way to the final for the first time since 2016 thanks to a perfect performance by the Olympic gold medalist in the Balance Beam event. The crowd and her teammates roared and cheered as Lee performed a rather difficult dismount with relative ease.

However, Auburn could not make it all the way to the top of the mount as they finished in fourth place. The title challenge eventually came down to Oklahoma and Florida, as many predicted all season long.

Trinity Thomas’ perfect 10 routine put the title on the line as Ragan Smith was about to go on the Balance Beam. With a score of 9.9625, Ragan, posted the best score of the event on the day to clinch the title in a nail-biting final. With a few mistakes leading up to the final event, Ragan made sure that she didn’t do any mistakes when it mattered the most.

Incidentally, Oklahoma ranked fourth after the first rotation but made an incredible comeback to win their fifth National Championship in eight years.

One for the Future

While Simone Biles’ future in gymnastics is still rather uncertain, the US Gymnastics team is rather relaxed as they have an exciting prospect in the mix. Already having won a Gold at the Tokyo Olympics, Suni Lee has presented herself as a serious contender to become one of the all-time greats of the sport.

Many people, including Suni herself, believe that her Olympic triumph was a consequence of the withdrawal of legendary gymnast, Simone Biles. The thought has been troubling Suni for a while. The only way to bring the belief to an end is through the next Olympics. Lee will be aiming to win at the next Olympics to prove the point.

Only time will tell if she’s up to the task or not.
