New mom Mykayla Skinner has another identity besides being a mother to Lottie. She was an alternate at the 2016 Olympics and also a vault silver medalist at the 2020 Olympics. The two-time NCAA Championship title holder had shifted to the University of Utah’s gymnastics team, where she met her husband. So, to sum up, most of her life has been about her beloved sport.

Starting her career as a junior in the US National Team, Skinner gained several gymnastic accolades in her name. A part of Simone Biles‘ Gold Over America Tour, the 26-year-old had mindfully decided to exit gymnastics in 2021. Her goal was to build a family with her husband Jonas Harmer. But a recent post has taken the fans on a walk down memory lane.

Representing the University of Utah, Skinner prepared for her vault performance at the NCAA Championship semifinals. The story featured the Olympian standing on the podium with her 2020 Olympic silver vault medal. The four-time NCAA Championship medalist has a strong displeasure with the scoring system. She said, “Still hurt they never gave me a perfect 10 on vault. My junior year I spent all off-season learning how to finally stick this thing.” Having aced the Cheng and Amanar vault, it’s not unlikely that the 26-year-old had such a thing to say.

Coming as close as 9.9375 points, her inability to finish with a perfect 10 hurt. She further said, “Politics suck and it makes me so sad.” Though she had a 10 on the floor at the Pac-12 Championships, she never got paid for her hard work.
