Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are making the most of their well-deserved downtime, and honestly, it’s been so wholesome to see! After months of dealing with long-distance due to their packed schedules, the power couple finally reunited in New York City. They’ve been living it up with romantic dinner dates, catching thrilling NBA games, and even squeezing in a conference appearance. But let’s be real: things haven’t been all smooth sailing. Simone’s schedule has been nonstop.

From wrapping up her G.O.A.T. tour to cheering on Jonathan as he plays up for the Chicago Bears in Chicago, popping in for an interview on the Today Show, and now this NYC trip, it’s been a whirlwind. But even with all the chaos, Simone managed to find a little pocket of relief, and it’s such a sweet story.

After attending the Vtex Connect conference in New York on 13th January, Texas native Simone was on her way back home when a small moment of kindness turned her airport experience into something unforgettable. She shared on Instagram how she and Jonathan were looking for the United Club at the airport but ended up getting an unexpected upgrade. A fellow traveler from Chicago spotted them and generously invited them into the exclusive Sapphire Club. Simone couldn’t stop raving about how thoughtful it was, saying, “He didn’t have to do that, but it was so sweet & kind of him.”

The Sapphire Club itself? Absolute luxury! Simone posted a picture of the club, which was complete with artful decor and gorgeous books that made it feel more like an upscale lounge than an airport waiting area. She admitted, “I’ve never been to an airport club as nice as this. The hospitality was unmatched.” It was the perfect way to wrap up their jam-packed trip and start their journey home on a positive note. For someone who’s been running at full speed lately, that little act of kindness and a relaxing lounge moment clearly meant the world to her. But it was something Biles really needed! But at the same time, it wasn’t the first time when Simone Biles was treated so differently!

Back in 2022, Simone Biles had a funny moment when a flight attendant offered her a kid’s coloring book as she boarded a flight. Standing at 4 feet 8 inches tall, Simone shared a selfie on Instagram with an annoyed expression, writing, “Not the flight attendant trying to give me a coloring book when I board….. I said ‘no I’m good I’m 25.’” It seems the flight attendant mistook her for a child, probably because of her petite stature. Fast forward to 2024, and no one would mistake Simone for a kid anymore—especially with 11 Olympic medals under her belt! But despite all her accomplishments, life hasn’t exactly been easy for her lately.

Since the 2024 Paris Olympics ended, Simone Biles has been on quite the rollercoaster ride. After wrapping up a grueling yet fulfilling 30-show Gold Over America Tour, she’s been traveling the country, putting on gymnastics performances for fans. But as the tour came to a close, Simone found herself feeling the post-tour blues. “I’ve barely been home, but my body needed… break,” she shared, acknowledging how much her body craved the rest. Still, she isn’t slowing down for long. Although she expected a quieter year in 2025, with plans to relax and go on a couple of vacations with her husband, Jonathan Owens, she’s still been on the move, hopping from Chicago Bears games to various events.

However, in 2025, Simone’s schedule is already packed. She is set on the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, set for October 19th to 25th. Despite this late-season event, the extra time allows her to focus on preparation. Even though she’s been juggling intense travel and commitments, Simone is relishing the break from gymnastics until October 2025, enjoying her time with Jonathan and focusing on her physical health. The travel grind continues, though, as she’s already slated to appear at an autograph signing event on February 2nd, 2025, alongside her friends. But what’s most important is that, for now, she’s no longer dealing with the long-distance struggles with Jonathan Owens.
