The world turned upside down when Simone Biles withdrew from gymnastics competitions. Heading as the outright favorite to win gold medals, Biles stressed mental health struggles for not competing. On a break from the sport, Biles is enjoying the finer things in life. A prominent advocate of mental health struggles, Biles created the Gold Over America Tour, and many young gymnasts took part with her. Out of all the gymnasts, Nia Dennis loved the event. 

 

Trending with her remarkable floor-exercise routines, she captured the attention of millions of hearts during that routine. However, she retired from the sport, focusing on other projects in her life. Her entrance during the Met Gala saw her getting a place in the hearts of most entertainers, and representing Biles in the Gold Over America Tour was high on her wishlist.

Simone Biles’ unique Tour

The Tour aimed to represent the sport of women’s gymnastics along with inspiring younger generations to take up the sport. As for Dennis, she loved to perform and dance. Her floor exercise attracted millions of viewers for the mixture of gymnastics and dancing. Everyone loved it, and she became an overnight sensation. The Tour was a mixture of celebrating women’s achievements, a mixture of concerts, and gymnasts showcasing their stunning moves. As it was not a competition, Dennis loved being a part of it.

“It felt really great to be a part of that story, a part of such a drastic change in our sport, prioritizing mental health and talking about mental health and creating literally a whole show about mental health. I really just felt honored to be there,” said Dennis.

Many famous gymnasts like Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Mykayla Skinner, Katelyn Ohashi, and others took part in the show. But the show ended due to scheduling conflicts. It was a great way to connect with fans while conducting a lovely event.

Dennis wants to create a change

Simone Biles influenced a whole new generation to focus on mental health. Dennis spoke about her mental health journey in gymnastics. Posting updates on social media, her latest venture focuses on self-care. She wants to create a change in society. It is incredible to see more gymnasts taking their mental health seriously. Significantly, Biles led a new revolution in women’s gymnastics.

She is one of the best athletes in the world and incredible in what she does. For gymnasts like Dennis, she is an inspiration and hopefully can inspire many young gymnasts in the future.
